- Contestants are REQUIRED to FULLY ATTEND a minimum of 2 practices, however, the more practice they get the better they will do. Each contestant is responsible for learning the proper walking and interview techniques for this pageant and they will be taught during practice sessions. Contestants are responsible for any missed information if they miss a practice session.
- Contestants will participate in two phases of competition: Judges Interview and Onstage Modeling. Judges will only be able to ask age appropriate questions and/or questions pertaining to the contestant’s information sheet.
- INTERVIEW ATTIRE will be as follows: Sun Dress of your Choice that is age appropriate and is NOTTOO SHORT (remember you will be sitting in these dresses!). Make sure any undergarments are hidden!! If you have questions regarding this attire please do not hesitate to ask the director.
- ONSTAGE ATTIRE will be as follows: Formal Evening Gown – Gown must be floor length and be age appropriate. Judges WILL NOT be looking for the most elaborate dress, but one that is age appropriate and best fits your body style and personality. Make sure any undergarments are hidden. If you have any questions regarding this attire please do not hesitate to ask the director.
- Suggestions for hair and makeup are as follows: HAIR – for Interview the judges like to see a more natural look and for Onstage try to choose a style that best compliments your FACE and DRESS. MAKEUP – for Interview keep it to a minimum, judges like to see a more natural look and for Onstage darken it up, the lights tend to wash out your face.
- REMEMBER this is a TEEN pageant and the judges are going to be looking for someone who is age appropriate in hair, makeup and dress so don’t over do it.
- The winner of the pageant will be required to meet with the director for practice sessions prior to the state pageant. We will work on interview and modeling skills as well as put together an appropriate wardrobe for the state pageant that is approved by the director. The number of sessions will be set at a later date and approved by both the parents and pageant director.
- The winner of the pageant will also be REQUIRED TO BE AVAILABLE THE WEEK OF THE FAIR for any and all appearances that she might need to make at other fair events (this includes daytime and evening events). She will be REQUIRED to wear her crown and sash at all events and be dressed and act appropriately given the specific setting of the appearance. The winner will also be REQUIRED to make appearances throughout the year for parades and other County-wide events (to be determined by the pageant director).
