A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ZANE WILSON, OF HORRY COUNTY, FOR THE ELEVEN YEARS THAT SHE HAS COVERED THE STATEHOUSE FOR THE MYRTLE BEACH SUN NEWS, AND UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are grateful for the eleven years that Zane Wilson has served the citizens of Myrtle Beach with her insightful reporting of Statehouse news; and
Whereas, she honed her skills as a reporter and newspaper woman as the editor of the weekly Coastal Observer, where reporters participated in every aspect of getting the paper to press, except selling ads, but including tedious typesetting and pasting up pages; and
Whereas, although petite in stature and gentle in demeanor, Zane Wilson’s vigilance and thoroughness denote a tall character that has soared above her peers in the news industry; and
Whereas, her writing skills, accuracy, and enthusiasm for scooping the news have been recognized by her profession and envied by her colleagues and competitors alike; and
Whereas, being a consummate gadget lover has enabled Zane Wilson to stay abreast of competitive innovations in reporting by adopting computer equipment early; and
Whereas, known for her environmental concerns, she plans to follow the turtles she loves and enjoy camping and other outdoor activities in her retirement; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly congratulate Zane Wilson for her successful career as a reporter and editor of the Myrtle Beach Sun News, and wish her happiness and health in her much deserved retirement. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
