2013/14 USLA & CSLSA MEMBERSHIP INCENTIVES

Chapter Name is one of over 100 local chapters nationwide which belong to the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA), and as such all Chapter Name members are eligible to join the USLA. The $30 annual fee includes membership for one year in both the USLA and the CSLSA (our regional association).

For the 2013/14 membership year, the USLA and the CSLSA have put together the following membership incentives:

Junior Lifeguard Membership Information

USLA OVERVIEW:

The USLA is the only professional organization of open water lifeguards and open water rescue personnel in the United States. The purpose of the Association is to promote and develop the finest methods of lifesaving, encourage public education, coordinate training programs, support Junior Guard programs and familiarize the general public with the functions and services of lifeguard organizations. All Junior Lifeguards are encouraged to join the United States Lifesaving Association.

BENEFITS TO JUNIOR MEMBERS OF THE USLA INCLUDE:

A one year subscription to American Lifeguard Magazine…a $12 value

(3 issues total, mailed Nov 1st, Feb 1st and June 1st each year)

DUES:

Junior Lifeguard members pay a reduced rate of $10/year versus $30 for Professional members.

Of this amount, $8 goes directly to the USLA to offset the cost of the magazine subscription and the JG membership kits (membership card, decal and/or bumper sticker, and postage).

The remaining $2 is returned the local region to use to purchase educational materials or incentivize local Junior membership, such as through the annual bumper sticker contest.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Junior Guard membership is only available through USLA-sanctioned JG programs; the Program coordinator or Director must sign up their Juniors directly with the USLA. Junior members are NOT able to sign up or renew their membership online. But all Juniors should provide an email address to their program administrator as that is the method used to access the “member-only” area of the USLA website, including all the great discounts listed above.
