Dear Ammo Friends:

The 2004 reunion of our Morbach Ammunition Squadrons is scheduled for September11 (Saturday) at the Executive West Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Wives and families are welcome.

Executive West Hotel is situated across the street from the Inn in which we met for the 2002 reunion. The Hotel is reserving a block of rooms for our group. It also will provide a complimentary hospitality suite opening to a very large deck. Down the steps from the deck is a large lounge and tropical indoor/outdoor swimming pool. Other features include restaurants, ice cream parlor, gift shop, florist, bar, free parking with 24-hour security. Across the street is a bowling center. The Hotel provides free 24-hour shuttle from and to LouisvilleInternationalAirport. The Hotel will also provide the complimentary banquet room for our Saturday afternoon meal, which will be much like that of the 2002 reunion. All rooms contain cable TV with remote, telephone, alarm clock radio, coffee maker, rocking chair, iron and ironing board, two sink areas, shampoo and conditioner, razor, shower cap. The per-night rate for a one- or two-bed room, 1-4 occupants, will be $59.00 plus tax. (Note: This rate is per room, not per occupant.) The only other anticipated costs are $20.00 for the Saturday afternoon banquet, and $20.00 per person cover charge for drinks and refreshments. Financial arrangements for rooms will be made with the Hotel. Banquet fees and cover charges may be handed to me upon your arrival.

Major airlines servicing Louisville International Airport (SDF) include American, Continental, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, United, US Airways. Amtrak also services Louisville.

The Hotel is situated next to Six Flags / Kentucky Kingdom. Other nearby places of interest include LouisvilleSluggerMuseum, Churchill Downs / KentuckyDerbyMuseum, Louisville Zoo, GeorgePattonMuseum / FortKnox, and Caesar’s Casino.

The only scheduled events are a welcoming party Friday night in our hospitality suite and a banquet Saturday afternoon. There will be no reveille, taps, parades, formations, long lines. This will leave plenty of time for what most of us would rather do - mingle with friends and swap yarns about what we did in the war. Bring your scrapbooks, photographs, and other memorabilia.
