2004 Junior Golf Program

2004 Junior Golf Program

2010 Junior Golf Program

The Junior Golf Committee is happy to introduce our Junior Golf Program this year. We will still continue splitting our juniors into two groups. On Wednesdays, Juniors (18 Holers) & Jr. Juniors (9 Holers & Bag Taggers) will have their clinics and play dates. On Fridays, 6 holers, 3 Holers, & Rangers (beginners) will have their clinics and play dates. You can consult the chart below for times.

In addition, Monday evenings after the outings are complete are now available to walk with your children if Friday mornings are not convenient. There will be no instruction on Monday evenings.

Just as in years past all the skill levels will have the thirty minute clinic before they play. This year however, there will be 3 different clinics available at the same time so the player can choose the area most in need of improvement. Each junior golfer will be required to complete the “core classes” during one summer. The idea is that we offer the instruction needed in a more flexible format while still covering the important topics. This format will allow for smaller group sizes and more personal attention. Once the clinic is over the junior has time to play and have fun with their friends on the course.

Individual Lessons

Individual lessons are available for those who are interested. Obviously, the personalized instruction of one-on-one teaching is the most effective for achieving one's goals. If your child wants to make the High School Golf team or would like to be competitive in the local Junior Events, I recommend taking lessons. Each 1/2-hour lesson costs $20 and can be taken anytime on Tuesdays through Sunday. See the golf shop staff for available times. If your child is serious about the game, private lessons are the way to go.

Any junior who wishes to play without supervision is required to pass a test that cover rules and etiquette as well as pass a swing test administered by the professional staff. Those who pass will be given a Junior Bag Tag and allowed to play unaccompanied by a parent on the course. Juniors who have not earned the bag tag may not play unaccompanied.
