Hello In and Around Geneva Hashing Communities

The 10th Christmas Hash could not have happened and have been such a success without the efforts of the great hares as well as the organization of the food by Elf MisManager, Maid to Order and her elves. Hashy Christmas was had by all!

A dry day for a lovely Christmas run set by hares Frog Chopper and Jack Rabbit who actually seemed to know how to set a superbly scenic trail for everyone leading the pack through the forreststo two excellent refreshment stops – fine spirits were provided by Frog Chopper, water and OJ by Jack Rabbit and hot wine & nibbles prepared and provided by Sexposure.

The children set off on their own merry run, hares obviously wanting to tire them as they seemed to be out a long time and all came back with their pockets loaded down with extra candies. Star of the drink stop seemed to be the hot chocolate. The full pack disappeared into the woods after Pixie Dust and Speedy Gonzales. Soon ghostly calls and shrieks could be heard on the night air as the Pots, the Ingrahams, Belka and Strelka checked out the trail home.

And so after the main part of the day the wonderful Christmas meal organized by the elves was held in the evening at the Geneva Squash Club. Lots of little nibbles to accompany the fizzy, followed by salmon, then turkey and trimmings and red wine, and delicious deserts to fill the cracks.

Subject: Questions about the Christmas hash dinner
The Christmas menu was quite elaborate and would have cost too much if the whole
meal had been catered by the club. So the elves decided as follows:

Champagne punch and starters - provided by the hash**
Salmon - purchased by the hash and cooked by the club
Main course - purchased and cooked by the club CHF25 an adult and chf15 a child

Deserts - provided by the hash**

Wine, beer, coffee, water, orange juice - all drinks were brought from the club - chf532

** A big thankyou to all who generously contributed to completing the meal. The five bottles of wine contributed will be brought along to the AGM on 7th February 2005.

Finally a wonderful disco organized by Sputnik. The MC disposed of the gifts in record time and everyone, dressed in their national costumes, worked off their overindulgence to the DJ's superb music. Father Christmas came to visit the kids who were all photographed on his knee. Then naturally many of the harriettes wanted a hug from Santa and Mother Christmas had to whisk him away to his waiting reindeers and sleigh. The GrandMasters, Tin Tin and Weekend Poker, jointly thanked the Elf MisManager, Maid to Order and all of her elf helpers and wished everyone happy holidays.

Good news! Bob will be waiting to celebrate Christmas 2005 with us all.

Special thanks to

Iron Lady

Exert from Royal Milan and Bordighera HHH 5 December 2004 Hash Trash

'Twas 20 days before xmas and all around Milan,
The Hashers were stirring with great big yawns.
I with my Shig gear and No Grappa with her car,
We set out for Bergamo after my cappucino in a bar.
O'er Italian drivers and traffic to Ristorante Castagna, we did prevail,
In hopes that our hare Stuffing had set a good trail.
Already the Hashers were gathered with big grins,
The mulled wine and vodka had already kicked in.
Then gone went the nibbles into the trunk, such a clatter,
Our trusty beer master in the beer sleigh, important matters!
So, away to the woods we flew in a flash,
Tore up the hill over wet leaves and twigs, we did dash.
"Now, Tone Deaf! Now Sofa! Oh dear, Now No Grappa!
On Shignorant! On Cellular Sex! " our Stuffing did yappa!
"To the top of the hill! Watch that mud slide, don't fall!
Now hash away! hash away! hash away all!"
Then one falsie, two falsie, 3 falsie, four,
Five falsie, six falsie, and we asked for more?
Onto the other hill with some hints from the hare,
In hopes that the beer stop would soon be there.
But check points and hidden flour were yet to be found,
With shiggy caked in our shoes, we needed a blood hood.
But wait, where's our GM? disappeared yet again?
Then we arrived at the beer stop and of course he found his way in.
Reunited with our walkers, we reveled in delight.
There was Chestnut and her 'twin' Connie, lots of hats, what a sight,
Then Franco, and Iron Bum, and Useful (in 2 months due!)
We sang some silly songs and talked holidays, what a crew!
At the finish, the circle was conducted in happy haste,
A unique jingle bells version of 'sweet low' we did spontaneously create.
An amazing meal of pastas, turkey and polenta did follow,
And homemade mince pies and marscapone we did swallow.
So, that's my report, what more can I say.
I'm glad that I don't do this everyday.
Best wishes for a New Year that is happy, healthy, and bright.
Hashy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
x, Shignorant
