General Policies and Procedures

Each person is asked to show their membership card to the lifeguard on duty and to sign a daily registration sheet when entering the pool, noting the time of day. Use a separate line for each individual, including young children. This is helpful and important in administration of the pool program and in keeping track of the number of persons using the pool each day.

Specific Policies and Pool Procedures: The specific rules of conduct are attached to this application. These rules are subject to change as needed to ensure the safety and comfort of the members.

Restrooms are available in the bath house facility adjoining the pool. There are no locker facilities or attendants at the bath house. Swimmers are responsible for their own belongings. No valuables should be brought to the pool or grounds. All members are expected to help care for the facilities and to assist in maintaining utmost cleanliness and order at all times.

Children under twelve-years old must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult also dressed for swimming. Lifeguards are not able to serve as babysitters. No food or drinks are to be brought within the enclosed pool area. No smoking is permitted in the enclosed pool area.

Everyone is asked to make an effort to keep the pool, grounds and bath house clean and attractive at all times. Place all trash in cans located at both gate entrances. Please see that all towels and personal items are gathered up when leaving. All members are requested to take the little extra effort to keep the grounds beautiful. Any articles left at the pool, on the grounds or in the bath house will be deposited daily in a “Lost and Found” box.

Lifeguards will have full responsibility and authority to ensure the safety and welfare of all swimmers. For example, each time thunder is heard, the pool complex will be closed by the lifeguards for a full 30 minutes. If no more thunder is heard the pool will reopen after the 30 minute wait. Cancellation of membership, without refund, will result for anyone showing disregard for the safety of others, lack of consideration for others’ enjoyment of the pool, or failure to abide by the regulations set forth by the Camp Kum-Ba-Yah pool program.

Guests are welcome to swim only accompanying regular member participants, $3.00 per person, per day, payable in full to the Lifeguard upon arrival. All must be bona fide guests previously invited by a regular member. Credit cannot be extended for guest payments. Each guest will also register at time of payment, with names immediately following their hosts. The number of guests per family membership is limited to two per day.

Parties/Rentals:A pool member may hold a small party at the pool (i.e. a birthday party) so long as the following criteria are met:

  1. The time and date is scheduled with the office. Scheduling is on a first come first served basis. Only one party at a time. Guards on duty are not able to schedule parties.
