A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL SAT TEAM OF GREENVILLE FOR THEIR DEDICATED AND DILIGENT WORK AND RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS, INCLUDING BEING NAMED 2004 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONS.

Whereas, achieving academic excellence in competition is of great importance to the people of South Carolina and the members of the General Assembly; and

Whereas, the members are particularly proud of young people who use their exceptional mental aptitude to achieve goals and demonstrate to the rest of the country the educational gains that this State has had in recent years; and

Whereas, the members of the Christ Church Episcopal School SAT Team of Greenville used their outstanding cerebral ability and competitive spirit to become champions; and

Whereas, this team’s members accomplished their common goal by posting scores that ranged at the time of the first competition from 1440 to 1510 to become the Class A State Champions, joining Christ Church Episcopal School championship teams of 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003; and

Whereas, dubbed “The Magnificent Eleven”, the members of the Christ Church Episcopal School SAT Team include four seniors: Charlie Adair, Christina McLane, Stephanie Nickell, and Charlottel Pool, and seven juniors: Sarah Batizy, Will Davis, Frank Farokhi, Chelsea Rudisill, McKenzie Smith, Thomas Snider, and Sally Stephenson ; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish much success to these scholars in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly extend their congratulations to the Christ Church Episcopal School SAT Team of Greenville for their dedicated and diligent work and recent accomplishments, including being named the Class A State Champions for 2004.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Christ Church Episcopal School and the members of the SAT Team of Greenville.
