Paul J. Chiapparone of Plano, Texas, is Rector of the Board. He is executive vice president of Electronic Data Systems Corporation. He is a former member of the Executive Advisory Council for the JMU College of Business. He was Rector of the Board from 1996 to 1998. Term: 1995-1999; 1999-2003.
Joseph C. Farrell of Richmond is Vice Rector of the Board. He is the retired chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Pittston Company. Term: 1997-2000; 2000-2004.
Helen R. Blackwell of Arlington is a newsletter editor for the Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund. Term: 1999-2000; 2000-2004.
Frank L. Carzo of McLean, is the CEO of the executive search firm Carzo Associates. He is a former member of the Executive Advisory Council for the JMU College of Business. Term: 2002-2006.
Pablo Cuevas of Broadway is executive vice president of Riddleberger Brothers Inc. and is chairman of the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors. He is a member of the JMU Class of 1962. Term: 1996-2000; 2000-2004.
Charles H. Cunningham of Fairfax is director of federal affairs for the National Rifle Association. He is a 1981 honors graduate of JMU. While at JMU, he served as President of the Student Government Association. Term: 1995-1999; 1999-2003.
Charles H. Foster Jr. of Richmond is the chairman and CEO of LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. Term: 2002-2006.
Dr. Meredith Strohm Gunter of Charlottesville is a former coordinator of residence education at Virginia Commonwealth University, director of student services at Longwood College and provost of the New College of Global Studies at Radford University. Term: 2002-2006.
William S. Jasien of Clifton is an official with ING-AETNA Financial Services of Fairfax. He is a 1985 graduate of JMU. Term: 1996-2000; 2000-2004.
Stephen R. Leeolou of Charlotte, N. C. is the president and CEO of Southstar Capital, LLC. He is a 1978 graduate of JMU. The Leeolou Alumni Center at JMU is named for Leeolou and his wife Dee Dee Collins Leeolou. Term: 2002-2006.
George K. Martin of Richmond is a partner in the real estate and environmental department of the law firm of McGuireWoods LLP. Term: 1999-2003.
Timothy M. McConville of Virginia Beach is with the law firm of Willcox & Savage P.C. in its labor and employment law group. He is a 1986 cum laude graduate of JMU. Term: 1999-2003.
Dr. Delores Z. Pretlow of Richmond is the assistant superintendent of operations for Richmond public schools. Term: 2002-2006.
Mark D. Obenshain is a partner with the Harrisonburg law firm of Keeler Obenshain P.C. Term: 1995-1999; 1999-2003.
Robert L. Testwuide III of Vienna is a vice president and certified financial planner with Merrill Lynch in Reston. He is a 1988 graduate of JMU. Term: 2000-2004.
