A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
RECOGNIZING MRS. HATTIE LUCILLE GEIGER LABORDE OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF MOTHER’S DAY FOR HER EXCEPTIONAL DEVOTION TO HER CHURCH, FAMILY, AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Mrs. Hattie Lucille Geiger LaBorde was born in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1911, the daughter of Jackson and Hattie Geiger; and
Whereas, when she was six months old, her family moved to Richland County where she attended Slate Hill School, a oneroom school house, from grades first through eighth; and
Whereas, Mrs. LaBorde was married to the late Eddie LaBorde and together they were the proud parents of two daughters; and
Whereas, she has thirteen grandchildren; twentynine great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; and
Whereas, throughout her life, she has been a devoted and caring person and has worked diligently with the New Ebenezer Baptist Church’s Senior Usher Board for more than forty years; and
Whereas, she celebrated her ninetieth birthday on March 4, 2001, and is dearly loved by her family and many friends; and
Whereas, it is fitting for the members of the General Assembly to recognize Mrs. Hattie Lucille Geiger LaBorde of Richland County on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize Mrs. Hattie Lucille Geiger LaBorde of Richland County on the occasion of Mother’s Day for her exceptional devotion to her church, family, and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Hattie Lucille Geiger LaBorde.
