1.Creating a new page

  1. Click on Content Management, Create Content, Information About on the Administration menu.

2.Title, Page Title, Business Unit and Language.

1. Type the title for the page ((as it will display in a sitemap), e.g. "Information Technology, About Us") in the Title [for sitemap]: * text box.

2. Type the title for the page ((as it will display in the Browsers Title Bar), e.g. "NWU, Institutional Office, Information Technology" in the Page title: text box.

3. Click on the Business Unit: * drop-down list.

  • Select [your business unit] from the list.

4. Click on the Language: * drop-down list.

  • Select the English option.
  • Click in the CK Editor window.

3.Headings

  1. Type your 'Heading 1', for example "Information Technology".
  • Select Heading 1.
  • Click on the Format drop-down list.
  • Select [Heading 1] list item.
  1. Type your 'Heading 2', for example "About Us".
  • Select Heading 2.
  • Click the Format drop-down list.
  • Click the Heading 2 list item.

4.Create a link to a Document

  1. Type the text which you want to link the document to (eg. "Link to Document").
  2. Select the text which you want to link the document to.
  3. Click on the Link button.
  • Click the Link Type drop-down list.
  • Click the URL list item.
  • Click the Browse Server button.

  1. Browse to the document that you want to link to.
  2. Right-click on the document (eg. AfrSkryfGoed2011.pdf)link.
  3. Select the Send to rich text editor option to add the link.
  4. Click the OK button.

5.Add an image to a web page

  1. Place the cursor in the position where you want the image in the work area.
  2. Click the Image button.
  3. Click the Browse Server button.
  1. Browse to the document that you want to link to.
  2. Right-click on the image (eg. BIB.jpg).
  3. Select the Send to rich text editor to add the image.
  4. Click the OK button.

6.Create a link to an image.

  1. Type the text which you want to link the image to (eg. "Link to Image").
  2. Select the text which you want to link the document to.
  3. Click on the Link button.
  • Click the Link Type drop-down list.
  • Click the URL list item.
  • Click the Browse Server button.
  1. Browse to the image that you want to link to.
  2. Right-click on the image (eg. Ctext_tale255ljpg)link.
  3. Select the Send to rich text editor option to add the image link.
  4. Click the OK button.

7.Upload an Image (or document) from the CKEditor

  1. Click the Image button.
  2. Click the Browse Server button.
  1. Browse to the folder where you want to upload the image (or document) to.
  2. Click on the File Upload link.
  3. Click on the Browse Button and browse to the image (or document) that you want to upload.
  4. Select the image (or document) and click the Open Button.
  5. Click on the Upload Button.

VERY IMPORTANT!
If the image or document icon is ‘faded’, after it was uploaded, the steps beneath needs to be followed to add the image or document to the Drupal Database:
Example of a ‘faded’ image icon:

  1. Right-click on the [faded icon].
  2. Click the Add file to database text box.

8.Keywords and Description for your web page

  1. Click the Meta tags link. (This option is available when you create a page for the first time, as well as from the Edit tab.)
  2. Type the description for your page in the Descriptiontext box, eg. "Information Technology, About Us"
  3. Type the keywords in the Keywords text box (separated by a comma), eg. “Information Technology, IT”.
  4. Click on the Save Button.
