  1. Introductions and welcomes
/
  • David welcomed PPG members including Michelle who was attending her first meeting.

  1. Election of Vice Chair
/
  • Patricia was elected as the new Vice Chair of the PPG.

  1. Minutes of the last meeting
/
  • David said that the Lambeth PPG Network is registered with Companies House. The minutes were approved.

  1. Update on the status of the LPPGN
/
  • David told the group that he is no longer a Director on the LPPGN board.

  1. TVs in surgeries update
/
  • The installation of the new TV at the surgery has started with the bracketsstill to come.
  • David said that the Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group is making an hour long film that could beshown in surgeries until free Wi-Fi is made available.
  • David said the PPG should think of some ideas for videos and that doctors and staff at the surgery should be encouraged to contribute ideas and take part in videos.
  • David mentioned that the LCCG want more patients to book appointments online as currently only 3% do. Frank suggested that a film could be made explaining how to book such appointments. David suggested that patients could use their mobile phones to follow the instructions on TV.

  1. Wi-Fi in surgery update

  • Wi-Fi will be made available in surgeries once all the TVs have been installed.

  1. Streatham PPG Network

  • David told the group that the Streatham PPG Network now has a Facebook pagewhich is being used to promote the work of PPGs.

  1. Any other business
/
  • David said that he would ask the LCCG if volunteers who do a lot of PPG work could be issued with an NHS staff discount cardto help reduce their expenses.
  • Frank showed the group a leaflet onsupporting local pharmacies and asked if anyone else knew about it. The group discussed the Government’sintentions to source out pharmacy work to companies like Sainsbury’s which would mean pharmacies losing business. The aim of the leaflet is to encourage patients to continue to use their local pharmacy.
  • Frank also showed the group a couple of leaflets on sports activities being offered to people with dementia and their Carers.The group liked the idea, but the £5 fee for one ofthe activities may be too expensive for pensioners.
