Students cannot be successful, if they do not have the proper materials they need for classroom work and/or homework.

Interactive Student Notebook:

Students will be required to have an organized and up to date interactive notebook for social studies and bring their notebook to class every day. Student’s notebooks will resemble teacher’s example notebook and table of contents from the board. Please have your child read their notes in their interactive notebook on a daily basis.

Homework and extra credit:

Homework is assigned on campus designated days for all content areas. Homework for Social Studies will be assigned on Mondays and Thursdays. If a student fails to complete any assignments, he/she will be given lunch and/or afterschool detention to complete the homework assignment. If incomplete homework assignments become excessive or continuous, a parent conference will be required to address these issues. Extra credit will be given at teacher discretion and is not a guaranteed option.

Progress Reports and Report Cards:

Progress reports are distributed every 3 weeks. Any parents that have questions pertaining to their child’s report card may call or email the teacher or view grades online through the Tyler Portal.

Tardy Policy:

Students are expected to arrive to class on time every class period. Four tardies will automatically result in an office referral and call home to parents.

Late work and redo policy:

As per district policy, students will be given 5 school days to redo any failing grades. If a student takes advantage of the late work policy, the original grade and the new grade will be averaged together for their replacement grade. Students who are absent one day will have two days to complete the assignment.

*Example: If a student receives a 50 on an assignment on Monday, she/he has until the following Monday to redo and turn in the assignment. If they earn a 100 on the redo, the original grade of 50 will be averaged with the 100 earned on the redo, for a final grade of 75.

Projects:

Students will be assigned technology projects every 9 weeks for all content areas. Students will be responsible for completing the majority of the projects at home.

Grading Policy:

Daily grades – 60%

Tests/Projects – 30%

9 weeks test – 10%
