2. TOURIST VISA APPLICATION PROCESS FOR NON-US CITIZENS
A citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter Turkey for touristic purposes may need to obtain a visa, depending on passport of his/her nationality. Please check the http://www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa for visa regulations.
You can apply for a tourist visa via Turkish Consulate General in New York, or an e-visa online on www.evisa.gov.tr . You are kindly reminded that duration of procedure and required documents vary according to application method.
Required documents for application via Turkish Consulate General in NY:
1. National passport or official travel document
a) with an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the “duration of stay” of their visa
Example: In order to enter Turkey having a visa with 30 days “duration of stay”, visa applicants should hold a passport valid at least for an additional 60 days which totals to 90 days (30 days + 60 days) of validity at the time of entrance.
b) with a blank page to affix the visa
2. One fully completed and signed application form (Encl.)
3. One recent passport - size (2” x 2”) photograph
4. Visa fee*
5. Original and copy of valid US alien registration card or valid US resident visa.
a) US tourist visa (B1/B2) holders are not eligible to get a visa.
b) Valid I-20 or the letter from school, needed for the students
6. If you wish your visa issued passport to be returned by mail, a postage fee of 31 USD in cash or money order payable to the Turkish Consulate General in NY.

Visa fee can only be paid in cash or money order payable to the Turkish Consulate General in NY. Personal checks are not accepted.

Application method:
Applicants can apply for tourist visa either in person or by mail. Applicants, who apply via mail, may be invited for a visa interview if necessary.
For in-person applications and interviews, applicants must have an appointment on www.konsolosluk.gov.tr.
Additional notes:
Please fill in the application form on computer, have a print-out, and sign it.
Turkish Consulate General in New York is not responsible for documents lost in the mail.
In individual cases, you may be required to provide additional documents (such as complete itinerary with flight information, employment verification letter/bank statement, proof of lodging and a notarized written consent from both of the parents for those who are under 18 years old)
Please do not finalize your travel plans or arrangements until you are notified about the outcome of your visa applications.
The procedure takes at least 3 business days. However, process of applications of non-US travel document holders may take 4-5 weeks. It is strongly advised for applicants to apply at least one month prior to their intended trip, if you apply for a tourist visa via Turkish Consulate General in New York.
