  4. The governments of Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R.) desire to strengthen the peace between the two countries. Adolph Hitler created this document to ensure that the U.S.S.R. would not attack Germany, allowing him to gain power.
  5. The document states how the two countries, Germany and the U.S.S.R., should handle conflicts relating to power struggles and peace between the two countries. This document is ultimately a non-aggression pact which allows Hitler’s aggression to occur.
  6. Political, sociological, cultural and geographical are some perspectives that this document could be seen from. Political because it involves the society’s leaders, and sociological because this document is looking at how these societies are structured. Cultural because the cultures of Germany and the U.S.S.R influence the peace between the two countries and finally geographical because the location of these countries effects their aggression.

  • Economic – Germany lost a lot of money because they had to pay reparations for WWI
  • Sociological – this probably angered a lot of the german people
  • Geographic – Germany lost a lot of land due to the treaty

  4. The cause of the conflict according to this document was the whole process of letting Hitler attain land from Czechoslovakia and basically break the Treaty of Versailles. This was one of the main conflicts that caused WW2.
  5. This relates to the cause because the taking of Czech land for Germany was one of the main kick-starters of the war along with breaking the Treaty of Versailles.
  6. Geographical- Germany is taking Czech land that is not theirs for building up their own power

Roosevelt’s Speech on Pearl Harbor Cece

  3. He was president of the USA when he gave this speech
  4. He made this speech because the bombing of Pearl Harbor is what caused the United States to enter into the war.
  5. The document talks about the bomb and how the United States was completely taken off guard by the attack. It tells how the attack caused severe damage killing many Americans and sinking ships. Lastly, it tells how there is now a state of war between the Japanese and the Americas.
  6. Social studies perspectives we see in this document are economic, cultural, and psychological. We see economics were Roosevelt talks about the destruction the bombing caused and the ships that sank. It destroyed there Naval Army and the US is going to have to re-build it. The document is cultural because the Americans and the Japanese relationships are now broken and mangled. Lastly, it is psychological because the United States is paranoid about the Japanese people living in the United States

3: Churchill’s position at the time is that Germany was a dangerous country to be around and that appeasing Hitler was a bad idea. He says that the relationship between Great Britain and France were willing to sacrifice Czechoslovakia to Germany which Churchill thought was a terrible idea.
