A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
COMMENDING AND THANKING JOE BULLINGTON, PRINCIPAL OF CHESNEE HIGH SCHOOL IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, FOR HIS DEDICATED, OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO PUBLIC EDUCATION AND TO SPARTANBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT 2, AND WISHING HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT.
Whereas, Joe Bullington is retiring in 2000 as Principal of Chesnee High School in Spartanburg County; and
Whereas, Mr. Bullington has been an outstanding principal and has faithfully served Spartanburg School District 2; and
Whereas, he grew up in Cherokee Springs and graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1965; after serving in the United States Army and finishing graduate school, he began his career in education; and
Whereas, for the first ten years of his career, he was Assistant Principal of Carver Junior High School in Spartanburg School District 7; he returned to District 2 in July, 1986, when he began his fourteen year post at Chesnee High School; during his career he has witnessed, and has been an integral part of, many changes in education, including the new Chesnee High building and tremendous growth in Spartanburg School District 2; and
Whereas, he has worked in six different South Carolina school districts in varying capacities but felt strongly that Spartanburg School District 2 had the best working relationship with its principals; he has made Chesnee High School an excellent school; he has been devoted to the success of his students, and has given most generously of his time, talents, and energy to public education in the Palmetto State; he is an outstanding individual, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to recognize him in this special manner. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and thank Joe Bullington, Principal of Chesnee High School in Spartanburg County, for his dedicated, outstanding service to public education and to Spartanburg School District 2 and also wish him much success and happiness following his retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Joe Bullington.
