2Competence is to be demonstrated on at least three occasions of inspecting KFC portions on an automated nine cut automatic saw machine line.

Elements and performance criteria

Element 1

Hang poultry carcasses continuously on a nine cut automatic saw machine production line.

Rangefast food line, automatic cut-up machine.

Performance criteria

1.1Poultry carcasses are hung in accordance with the product specifications and company operating procedures.

1.2Poultry carcasses are hung in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.

1.3Poultry carcasses are hung in accordance with the company production throughput requirements.

Element 2

Inspect KFC poultry portions for compliance with company product specifications.

Performance criteria

2.1Out of specification poultry portions are handled in accordance with the company operating procedures.

2.2The inspecting process is carried out in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and procedures.

2.3The poultry portions are checked in accordance with the company production throughput requirements.

Element 3

Pack poultry portions.

Performance criteria

3.1The poultry portions are packed in accordance with the product specifications and company operating procedures.

3.2The poultry portions are packed in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.

3.3The poultry portions are packed in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and procedures.

3.4The poultry portions are packed in accordance with the company production throughput requirements.

Please note

Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.

Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.

Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
