12 Steps to Starting Your Young Living Business:

1.Know your ‘WHY’. Why does YL fit you and why are you choosing this company out of all the other companies out there? (this becomes your mission) Also…don’t forget to explore why you are choosing this business model verses starting a franchise or traditional business? Seriously…answer this.

2. What is your experience story? (testimony) If you are choosing to represent the YL lifestyle, what lifestyle area will you begin experiencing yourself so that you have a story to share? SET UP YOUR ESSENTIAL REWARDS ORDER! A 100pv ER order will always qualify you for 100% of the compensation plan, and you must be a product of your own product. Every member looking to build a business should be using ER to order. This is the backbone of your business. This should be set up right away, so you know how this program works, and how to set others up with it.

3. Put your calendarin front of you. What actions are confirmed on your calendar that directly grows your business?

(*) If you are a serious business, you should have daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly planned actions. A) They should include actions to ENROLL someone. B) They should include actions to FOLLOWUP C) They should include actions to EQUIP someone else to share with a friend. This becomes your 90 day action plan.

Your business won’t grow if your calendar isn’t filled.

(*)Decide what actions you will do. For ideas, use the document:. Will you ask a friend to have a Wellness at Home gathering? Will you practice your two minute commercial and hand out your card to 5 people per day? Will you post on facebook linking someone to your website? Any consistent direct action will do. If you are a busy mom/dad or working full time, consistent actions are key. So adjust the number of activities you do each week depending on your life situation. Also, think about interweaving YL with what you do? For example: Can you chat with someone while you are standing in line at the store? Can you chat with someone at a sporting event? Could you share with a colleague at work? Could you share with a work-out pal? Be creative. Work smarter; not harder.

Just be intentional each week that the actions you do are income generating actions.

4. Do you have business cards? In other words, how are people supposed to check you out? If people want more information and you don’t have time to meet right then and there, how do they get ahold of you? Everyone has a business card….even the worker behind the desk at Office Max. Where is yours? And more importantly, ask for theirs! That way you control the follow-up.

5. Do you have a website? Ifnot, get one. In today’s world, a website is a given for any business. Even the local farmer has a website. People want the convenience of seeing things online and to know you are a serious business. You should consider this as well to SHOW you are choosing to be IN BUSINESS. I highly recommend over the Young Living duplicated website. This site has much more content, more professional, and overall greater value. The beauty of duplicated sites is when you enroll new members who want to build a business, they can easily get established online following these steps as well, which include getting a website set up quickly.

6. Prepare for 3 Wellness at Home presentations OR 3 one-on-one appointment presentations. Preparation for either is the same.

a) Go over Vicki Opfer’s Heart Centered Sharing model for presenting a basic class. (this is in the back office of ylscents site , as well as in the documents section of this group.) You can watch a youtube demonstration of this here

b) Now ask someone else to have a Wellness at Home gathering and you can help them.

7) Get a desk and pocket reference guide. Amazing reference tool that everyone should have!!

8. Ask someone an exploration question.

To a valued oil user: “You have found value in the YL products, have you ever explored the idea of hosting a “Wellness at Home” night if we did it together?”

At the end of your Wellness at Home time : “Did you find value in what you experienced here tonight? Is there someone you know that would benefit from this information? Write their name down. Here is the product guide and there is an order form in there for those of you who have found value in the products. If you look at page 9, it shows the key lifestyle starter collections…..”

To a valued oil user: “You have found value in the YL products, would you consider sharing my card with friends or sharing your own card?

Consider incentives given to “hosts of Wellness at Home” or for those giving you “referrals”. These could come from your own Essential Reward free points. Remember….as you help others enroll someone you get an 10% matching for 3 months of their new person’s purchases.

Also consider incentives for the new people you enroll. One suggestion is to give a pocket Essential Oil Desk Reference for those purchasing 100 PV or more. (Reasoning: You get 25% commission and if it is premium kit you get an additional $25 = $50+. So if you order the pocket reference books with a team leader to receive bulk prices, the price of the pocket reference comes out to about $10. This seems a good investment because the more people learn and read about the oils, the more likely the second month order becomes for another 25% commission.

10. Have you listened to the comp plan recording so that you know how you will be paid and in the future, you’ll be able to share with someone the earning potential. When you chat with others, they will ask, “how do I get paid?” Can you explain this? If not, study and practice. You can literally enroll others and get started without knowing this, but have this step on your monthly or quarterly goals so you are ready. Along with this, do you know how to explain how this model is similar to the real estate broker or insurance model? It is not a pyramid like corporate America, government or school districts. Here are some youtube video’s to watch to explain this in detail

11. What books will you read to develop a business mindset? (Jim Rohn, Bob Proctor, Randy Gage, T.HarvEcker, etc) – Personal Development is key. I recommend listening to the audios of Big Al, as well as Randy Gages Duplication Nation and Fast Track Pack. If you are interested in the Randy Gage materials, I have them available in DropBox

12. For those really looking to equip their business, you may consider investing in the Zyto Compass at the beginning , this tool is great for getting re-orders, larger first orders, and new essential rewards orders. One of our group members went silver in 41 days from enrollment, she shared later that there was no way she would have hit this without this tool.
