Outcome 1

Define and configure survey parameters using hydrographic software.

Performance criteria

1.1Survey parameters are defined in accordance with job specifications and HYSPEC.

Rangeincludes but is not limited to – run lines, datum, spheroid parameters, projection parameters, scale.

1.2Survey sensor and peripheral parameters are configured in accordance with job specifications, HYSPEC, and manufacturer’s instructions.

Rangeparameters include but are not limited to – sensor offsets, calibration factors.

1.3Data gathering parameters are set to meet job specifications.

Rangerun lines, guidance point, sampling rates, quality control limits, recording rates.

Outcome 2

Monitor the data acquisition process using hydrographic software.

Performance criteria

2.1Online data gathering processes are monitored for conformity with preset data quality parameters in accordance with job specifications, HYSPEC, and manufacturer’s instructions.

2.2The data gathering process is interactively adjusted to maintain job specifications.

Rangeevent log, shoal alarm, parameter amendment, fix interval, navigation display changes.

Outcome 3

Process collected data using hydrographic software.

Performance criteria

3.1Collected data are processed, checked, and editedto meet job specifications and HYSPEC.

Rangeediting processes include but are not limited to – positional correction, depth correction, velocity of sound adjustment, tidal reduction, depth selection.
