100 new points of light

Some time ago our Bishop cast avision that we will start 100 new faith communities over the next year. I’m hoping that you have seen the information about this vision on our website, to know that the Conference is hoping to hand out $500 in seed money to 100 different people or groups who have a vision to start something new in their communities. Following is a reminder of the values under girding this vision:
  • Reach the un-churched
  • Reach the de-churched
  • Wesleyan Theology
  • Lay-driven
  • Empower Laity
  • Outwardly Focused
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and innovation
  • Failing is OK as long as we learn from it - this is a pilot
Thank you for your belief in the resurrection and the courage it takes to envision a new future for your community in Jesus Christ. I am hoping that several teams from East District are planning to come forward when the invitation is given on Friday morning of Annual Conference, to declare to the Conference that they are answering a call from God to reach some new people in their community.
Will you please let me know if you and/or someone are planning to come forward to give witness to your plan to reach a new people group? Just to remind you, there will be support and advisors to help you with your“point of light”. Please email me at .
Blessings to you all,
Dave Byrum
