Chairperson Openings
Assistant Director / OPEN / We need a parent who will help run the practices for the younger kids. No experience necessary, our lead director/choreographer will run the scenes, but we can use help getting the kids to do what they are being taught to do.
Rehearsal Moderator / OPEN / This person will review the parent coordinator sign-up genius to ensure that there is proper parental coverage for each scheduled rehearsal and will facilitate reminder e-mails to the drama club parents about such needs. This person will also confirm with the producers that there is a workshop scheduled for each weekly rehearsal and supplies/facilitators are coordinated and prepared
Stage Construction / OPEN / We are looking for someone who can lead a group of volunteers (typically dads, but anyone is welcome!), to help build the stage extension and also dismantle it after the last show. The stage is usually built on a Friday evening in early March and it is taken down as soon as the Sunday afternoon show is over. Bring your tools if you have them. This group will also help hang curtains around the perimeter of the gym the week before the show and take them down after the show.
Committees
Costumes / Ann Marie Bodi, Amelia Snediker / There are well over 100 costumes to make for this show! If you sew or craft, you’re a perfect fit with this talented group. Not sewing is okay too… there are plenty of supplies to shop for, deals to be found, and fabric to cut. Once costumes are made, this committee also helps fit the kids in the costumes, gets them dressed for each show and dress rehearsal, and keepsthe costumes organized.
Set Design
(Props +Set Decoration) / Stephanie Carroll
Andrea Vigliotti / Another place to unleash your creative side! Props makes/secures any item that comes on stage and works backstage during performances to make sure items are organized. We also need help painting and building the scenery and stage decorations. Typically most painting can be done in a couple of nights. Anyone with experience building things is also a plus!
Program Book / Jennifer Browne
Mandy Davis / This committee is in charge of selling ads to parents and local businesses for the program book. This important committee raises much of the money needed to put on the play each year, so if you have contacts in the area we need you!
Ticket Sales / Mary Lance-Smith / Gotta fill the seats! We need help selling tickets on the "Pre-Sale" night for parents of kids in the play, as well as selling tickets at the door the days of the shows. We also ask that these volunteers help straighten chairs and sweep up after each show. (Note: This committee has a max number of volunteers.)
Baskets/Raffle Table / Tamar Pollack
Alexis Cucchi / Help ask for donations, shop, and create the themed baskets that we raffle off as a fundraiser. Work the raffle table, sell candy-grams for the cast, flowers, and candy “chances” for raffle tickets.
DVDs/T-shirts / Brooke Haas / We need someone to place our cast t-shirt order and burn copies of our DVDs. These duties can be done at home on your schedule.
Stage Managers / Glenn Ward
OPEN / Our student stage managers set the scenes but we need a few adults to operate the curtain, trap door and lead the crew. This is a group of volunteers that help lift and carry the big andheavy things behind the scenes during the show. They need to be present for at least a few of the last rehearsals so they can learn the show, and then also be available to work during the show to help move the scenery.
Sound / Bruce Smith
OPEN / This is a show week job. We need someone to come to a full cast rehearsal to watch the show, and then attend the tech/dress rehearsals plus the three shows beforehand to help get the kids’ mics on. During the shows, any mic changes will be handled by the sound crew.
Cast Party
Kitchen Sales / OPEN
(Jen Ballios)
Ken/Kathleen Moyer / Responsibilities include helping to plan and buy items needed for the cast party, setting up the cast party, and cleaning up after the cast party.
This committee is responsible for selling the food and drinks before the show and during intermissions
Drama Club Operations / Joan O’Brien
Bob Lance
Mandy Davis / This group will be responsible for the administrative needs of the drama club. Some of the responsibilities will include helping to keep data organized, finances/book keeping, marketing needs of the drama club, etc. If interested please contact one of the producers.
