DRIVING POLICY

Nextran Corporation has made a commitment of safety, service, and quality to both our employees and customers. Nextran Corporation mandates that both our employees and non-employees operate all vehicles owned by or used by Nextran Corporation in a safe and economical manner. The following summarizes policy guidelines:

1. Vehicles are not to be operated unless in a safe operating condition.

2. Drivers must be physically and mentally able to drive safely.

3. Drivers must conform to all traffic laws with allowances made for adverse weather and traffic conditions.

4. Respect the rights of other drivers and pedestrians. Courtesy is contagious.

Drivers may not use drugs or alcohol, or be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, while operating a vehicle owned by or used by Nextran Corporation. This includes any prescribed or over the counter medication that causes drowsiness.

Employees whose jobs include driving are required to disclose to their department managers the use of any medication that may cause drowsiness. This information will be held in strict confidence, and revealed only to those on a “need to know” basis.

ACCIDENTS AND CITATIONS

All accidents and citations are to be reported to management of Nextran Corporation within twenty-four (24) hours after the accident or citation occurs. All accidents will be reviewed and determination made as either preventable or non-preventable. A preventable accident is defined as an accident in which the driver failed to do everything reasonably possible to avoid it.

DRIVING INFRACTIONS

Nextran corporation periodically reviews the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) of anyone driving for business purposes to ensure that we are putting safe drivers on the road. Should your MVR reveal infractions, Nextran will review these violations and determine whether or not such infractions pose undue risk to Nextran. Although not an exclusive list in our evaluation process, Nextran will consider the severity of the violation, the number of total violations, and the frequency that your role with Nextran requires you to drive for business purposes.

Should your driving record be unacceptable, Nextran may take corrective action including, but not limited to, suspending your driving privileges, reassigning you to an alternative role, or terminating your employment.

RADAR DETECTORS

The use of radar detectors is forbidden in all vehicles owned or used by Nextran Corporation. Drivers using radar detectors will have their driving privileges revoked.

PASSENGERS

Hitchhikers and passengers, other than company employees, are not permitted unless driven by business necessity. (For example, test driving a customer’s vehicle.)

SEAT BELTS

All occupants must wear seat belts whenever the vehicle is in motion.

SECURING CARGO

Cargo will be secured and all doors locked while en route and while the vehicles are parked.

USE OF CELL PHONES
