OBJECTIVE:
Provide a high level of customer service to members of Action Against Hunger and all visitors using initiative, communication skills and acting promptly and effectively with requests. You will also be able to take on key projects to support the Director on reaching our strategic objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1)To provide support the Head of department on the completion of a projects
2)To support the HR Department in day-to-day HR Administration
Recruitment:
- Ensure that the database is up to date
- Administering applications, through online database
- Advertising in relevant vacant positions, and tracking the end dates
- Sending pre-interview information and booking in applicants for interview by email and telephone
- Preparing files, sending relevant tests to applicants and tracking interview statistics
- Requesting references for volunteers, consultants and expatriates and tracking responses
- Supporting inducting new volunteers to the Headquarters and updating database
- Updating registered humanitarian professionals and contacting for availability
3)Support to international and UK staff
- Booking flights and train for international staff and UK staff with travel agencies identified
- Providing assistance to international staff to obtain VISA
- Support in the drafting of contracts
4)Communication
- Lead in the publication of the quarterly Newsletter for international field staff
- To develop a partnership with Universities and schools in order to increase the number of interns
5)Various
- Invoices: process invoices for consultants, and external companies
- Monitoring surveys questionnaires exit towards expatriate staff and volunteers
- Responding to ad-hoc queries
- Ad-hoc projects
- Updating HR databases
ADDITIONAL NOTE:
All volunteers will be expected to participate in fundraising activities one to two days per month (depending on your total time commitment) assisting the organisation raise funds through the following means; attending events, dinners, exhibitions, trade shows, bucket shaking.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Fluent written and spoken English
- French and/or Spanish desirable
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Human Resources qualification OR studying towards CIPD qualification
- Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer
- Some administration experience, preferably within an HR context

- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Research skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Ability to prioritise and an excellent eye for detail.
