I am writing with a response to your Freedom of Information request, which was originally received on the 26th September. I can confirm under section 1 of the Act that the Trust doeshold this information.
In your request you asked:
(1) The capital costs of the rebuild of the hospital?
The PFI contract covers the redevelopment of King’s Mill and Newark Hospitals. Where readily available the King’s Mill and Newark elements have been shown separately.
The capital costs of the rebuild of Kings Mill Hospital was £298.9m
The capital costs of the rebuild of Newark Hospital was £8.5m
Total capital costs £307.4m
(2) The monthly cost of servicing the PFI contract for the hospital and the percentage of total expenditure for the trust?
The current monthly cost of servicing the PFI contract is £3.56m (£3.29m King’s Mill and £0.27m Newark). This is 16% of our total operating expenditure.
(3) The length of the PFI contract and the current, estimated total cost once the debt is serviced?
The PFI contract runs until 31 March 2043. The total cost of the PFI contract over its full life from 2005 to 2043 including RPI indexation is Debt repayment and interest is estimated to total £783m, service charges (Building maintenance, catering, cleaning, portering etc) are estimated to total £1,717m, i.e. total charges of £2,500m.
(4) The names of the companies that the trust owe the money to?
