A student worker role would include some or all of the following:

Developing and maintaining an ongoing vision and strategy.

  • Develop strategy – timetable /programme for year
  • To help formulate appropriate overall objectives and specific strategies for student work
  • Overseeing church student events
  • Help the church to both explore and experience strategies for integrating current church family with students - and students with current church family.
  • 1st point of contact for new students
  • Oversee Student publicity – image and events

Providing motivation, training and support for students in the church

  • Create and oversee Student team and develop them
  • Identify student leaders coming through
  • Develop student resources
  • Oversee “Discipleship for Students”
  • Serve and release students for service

Point of contact for student matters, local and national

  • Build relationships with campus authorities + organisations
  • Develop relationship with Fusion and be aware of UK resources
  • Integrate external conferences and events into student programme

  • Expected to lead and work with a team both of student and graduate volunteers
  • Some administrative skills in particular IT skills
  • Expected to develop communications for young people, parents and church members. For example:

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Degree level education
  • Student Worker related training
  • Direct ongoing experience with young people (employed or voluntary)
  • Organisational and/or church life experience
  • Experience of Church Student Work

Circumstances
