At a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Fredonia, duly called and held on the 14th day of May, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. in the Trustees Room, 2ndFloor, Village Hall, Fredonia, New York and public notice of the time and place of this meeting has been given to the news media and conspicuously posted in one or more designated public locations in accordance with Section 104 of the Open Meetings Law.

WHEREAS members of this Board present at this meeting have read the Official

Minutes of the Board of Trustees regular meeting of April 23, 2018,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED this Board approves the minutes as entered into the Official Minutes, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the reading of the minutes be dispensed with.

  1. The Justice report for the month of April, 2018.

CORRESPONDENCE

  1. Correspondence was received from Heidi Seddon, of the Fredonia Chamber of

Commerce, requesting the use of the Tourist Information Booth and area surrounding the Tourist Information Booth for the annual 20 Miles of Attic and Seller Days, June 1-3, 2018, and to have the Police Department bag meters in front of the Tourist Information Booth.

BE IT RESOLVED the request from the Fredonia Chamber of Commerce to use the Tourist Information Booth and surrounding area of the Tourist Information Booth for its Annual Attic and Seller Days on June 1-3, 2018 is hereby approved, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fredonia Police Department bag the parking meters on Main Street (Route 20) in front of the Tourist Information in connection with the Annual Attic and Seller Days.

  1. Correspondence was received from the Fredonia Volunteer fire Department

advising the Board that they held their annual meeting and approved the attached list of expected duties and operations for the coming year.

  1. Correspondence was received from the Secretary of the Fredonia Volunteer

Fire Department to add Emily Barbosa to the active rolls.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Training request of Fire Chief, Ryan Walker, to attend the 2018 Fire Industry, Rescue, & EMS Expo in Verona, NY, June 13-16, 2018 at a cost not to exceed $907.00 is hereby approved.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Training request of Volunteer Firefighters Anthony DiRusso, Ryan Fisk, Dan Aldrich, Tyler DiRusso and Kurt Maytum to attend the 2018 Fire Industry, Rescue, & EMS Expo in Verona, NY, June 13-16, 2018 at a cost not to exceed $3,250.81with the remaining $3,250.81 to be paid by Volunteers is hereby approved.

WHEREAS bids for Water Meters for the Department of Public Works were publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED after review of bids, Ti-Sales, Inc., 36 Hudson Rd., Sudbury, MA, is hereby awarded the bid for Water Meters for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019, as per attached bid form, a copy of which is attached to and made part of these minutes.

WHEREAS bids for Liquefied Gas Chlorine for the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Water Filtration Plant were publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Betsy Sly, Chief Operator of the Waste Water Treatment Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid to Jones Chemical, 100 Sunny Sol Blvd, Caledonia, New York,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Jones Chemical (JCI), is hereby awarded the bid for Liquefied Gas Chlorine for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019 at $75.00 for 150 lb. cylinders with no container deposit and no fuel charge for the Water Filtration Plant; and $700.00 per ton cylinder with no container deposit and no fuel charge for the Waste Water Treatment Plant.

WHEREAS bids for Poly Aluminum Chloride for the Water Filtration Plant were publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Chris Surma, Chief Operator of the Water Filtration Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid to Applied Specialties Inc., 33555 Pin Oak Parkway, Avon Lake, Ohio,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Applied Specialties Inc., is hereby awarded the bid for Poly Aluminum Chloride for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019 at the bid of $163.50 per 55gallon drumswith no drum deposit.

WHEREAS bids for Poly Orthophosphate for the Water Filtration Plant were publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Chris Surma, Chief Operator of the Water Filtration Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid to Slack Chemical Co., Inc., 465 S. Clinton St., Carthage, NY,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Slack Chemical Co., Inc., is hereby awarded the bid for Poly Orthophosphate for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019 at the bid of $338.58 per 30gallon drum with no drum deposit.

WHEREAS bids for Powdered Blend of Inorganic Phosphates for the Water

Filtration Plant werepublicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Chris Surma, Chief Operator of the Water Filtration Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid to Slack Chemical Co., Inc., 465 S. Clinton St., Carthage, NY,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Slack Chemical Co., Inc., is hereby awarded the bid for Powdered Blend of Inorganic Phosphates for the Village fiscal year commencingJune 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019 at the bid price of $97.50 per 50 lb. pails with no deposit.

WHEREAS bids for Polycationic Polymer for the Water Filtration Plant were

publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Chris Surma, Chief Operator of the Water Filtration Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid toApplied Specialties Inc., 33555 Pin Oak Parkway, Avon Lake, Ohio,

WHEREAS bids for Synthetic Flocculant for the Waste Water Treatment Plant, were publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Betsy Sly, Chief Operator of the Waste Water Treatment Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid to SNF Polydyne, One Chemical Plant Rd, Riceboro, Georgia,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED thatSNY Polydyne is hereby awarded the bid for Synthetic Flocculate at $1.370per pound for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019.

WHEREAS bids for Ferric Chloride for the Waste Water Treatment Plant were publicly opened and read on May 11, 2018, and

WHEREAS Betsy Sly, Chief Operator of the Waste Water Treatment Plant, has reviewed the bids and has recommended awarding the bid to Slack Chemical Co., Inc., 465 S. Clinton St., Carthage, New York,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Slack Chemical Co., Inc., is hereby awarded the bid for Ferric Chloride at a price of $540.00 per dry ton delivered for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019.

BE IT RESOLVED that the following bids, being the lowest bids submitted for Village fuel is hereby accepted for the prices set forth below for the Village fiscal year commencing June 1, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019:

TPS, 1828 Rt. 20, Silver Creek, is hereby awarded the bid for:

Unleaded Gasoline with dealer markup of $.0223 plus the current refinery rack price on day of delivery, and

Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel with dealer markup of $.0223 plus the current refinery rack price on day of delivery, and

All weather Diesel Fuel with dealer markup of $.0223 plus the current refinery rack price on day of delivery.
