ROLE SUMMARY:
The Chief Executive is responsible to the Group Board for delivering effective leadership to the organisation and its people, ensuring a stable business and financial platform to enable continued success and sustainable growth.
Working closely with the Chair and Group Board to determine business direction and strategy, the Chief Executive will lead and manage delivery of the Business Plan including its vision, values and strategic objectives.
The Chief Executive will promote and develop NWH as a business that is committed to excellence and sustainability through local investment of resources in its communities and places, aspiring to add value by delivering with integrity, responsibility and creativity.
MAIN DUTIES:
1  Providing advice and assistance to the Group Board in determining strategy enabling effective planning, direction and control of the business.
2  Preparing and regularly reviewing the Business Plan as the framework for the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives.
3  Assisting the Group Board to determine the key organisational performance strategies that most appropriately reflect the needs of our diverse customer base along with the demands of regulators and funders; in particular advising on strategic options involving opportunities for collaboration or partnership where there are benefits to tenants or the business.
4  Managing the affairs of the Group in accordance with its values, objectives, general policies and specific decisions, drawing the Group Board’s attention to matters it should consider and decide.
5  Leading the Executive Team to translate strategies into operational business plans, ensuring that NWH is well placed to meet objectives in terms of structure, capability and resources.

1 QUALIFICATIONS
1.1  Relevant professional or management qualification or degree.
1.2  Evidence of continuous professional development.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
2.1  Understanding of strategic housing issues and the importance of housing in its social, economic and environmental contexts.
2.2  Understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trustees and directors within the housing sector.
2.3  Proven record of successful team leadership.
2.4  Succesful business development and demonstrable commercial awareness.
2.5  Effective management of significant budgets in accordance with agreed targets, plans and covenants.
2.6  Computer literate with a clear understanding of the potential for utilising information and communication technology in leadership, performance management and service delivery.
3  EXPERIENCE
3.1  Experience at director level or similar within a high quality service focused organisation.
3.2  Experience of leading staff through organisational and cultural change programmes.
3.3  Experience of maintaining performance, risk management and internal control systems.
3.4  Demonstrable experience of business development through the application of professional and modern management techniques.
3.5  Experience of operating effectively in a regulatory environment.

Remuneration package:
The annual salary is up to £95,000.
Annual leave:
30 days paid annual leave on joining increasing by one day per year to a maximum of 35 days. Statutory bank holidays (8) plus one additional gift day at Christmas
Location:
Your normal place of work will be at our head office at Plas Bodwel Broad Street Llanduduno Conwy LL31 9HL.
Given the seniority of the role travel may be necessary, as is regular visibility in the office.
Working hours:
35 hour standard week. Flexible working arrangements start/finish times - 8.00 am - 6.00 pm.
