Dear freshmen,
First of all, welcome you to become part of our big family! I’m quite convinced that you are now full of numerous questions about the new environment. How can you spend your four precious years here without any remorse? What does future holds for you? Virtually, no one can leave no regret.
Take me for an example. As an English major, I can’t say with any certainty that I’ve made my best to consummate my goal. After one year’s learning in English, I am still lacking in oral proficiency in English. However, I’m not that sort of person who succumbs to the difficulty so easily. I aspire to become a translator and interpreter, and I believe nothing is impossible to a willing heart!
So far, English opens up a new world to me. It shows me all the magnificent scenery I’ve never seen, all the fabulous places I’ve never been, and all the fantastic stories I’ve never heard. Thereby, I will never stop learning it. I firmly believe I can make a giant leap in this new semester.
As a sophomore, I think it essential to offer you some guide to live a more meaningful campus life.
1. Don’t waste your time! If you think the campus is your happy wonderland, then you miss the point by miles! You think you’re eventually set free and can do whatever you want? Come on, FORGET IT! You’re obliged to study here. Don’t be indulged in your whim just like a spoilt child! You need to be mature. You are expected to resist many temptations and give a higher priority to your study, or you will end up a failure!
2. Make friends! Try your utmost to get along with people, especially your roommates. Be ready to lend a helping hand, and bear in your mind that a warm-hearted man is welcomed all the time! Apathy only keeps you far away from others.
3. Live and love! Love a person not only because of his or her appearance or just because you are lonely. Cherish a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a sense of responsibility.
4. Be an earnest man with a decent heart. Be a trustworthy person that people can count on.
In the end, hope you relish every single day of you college life!!!
Yours Truly,
All sophomores and seniors
