Apply for Teacher Certification and Licensure

1 Pre-Candidates who do not pass the CASE Test should repeat IDST 100 or 101.

2 EDUC 201 & 202 Introduction to Teaching I & II must be taken by the end of the second semester of the sophomore year.

3 Candidates who wish to student teach in the spring should register for the Praxis II test administered no later than September in order to meet the November Student Teaching Application deadline. Candidates who wish to student teach in the fall, should register for the Praxis II no later than March to meet the April application deadline.

4 The student teaching experience is a direct, substantial, and full-day obligation, which spans a minimum of 13 weeks. Standards require the prospective teacher to spend a minimum of 300 clock hours in the classrooms on a full-time basis1 Pre-Candidates who do not pass the CASE Test should repeat IDST 101.

5 Core Major Courses: MATH 130 &131 are the Core Major Courses taken during freshman year.

6 Special Education Minors must also take; SPED 323, SPED 328, SPED402, SPED 423, SPED 425, and SPED 442
