Networks Report May 2011
1.Pascoe Vale. Leader Anne Feian
Meets on the second last Friday evening of each Term at Anne’s home in Pascoe Vale
Term 1 meeting was on April 1stwith seven in attendance.The topic was Individual Learning Plans.
Term 2 meeting is scheduled for Friday 24 June when the topic will be Resources with Margaret Canny as the main presenter with input from others.
Three new (or rejoined) consultant members have expressed interest in joining the Network
2.Geelong Leader Rob Nicoll
Term 1 meeting was on Saturday March 5th at the home of Anne and John Pringle.The topic was Assessments
Term 2 meeting was on7th May at Fay Tran’s home with six in attendance.
Pat Minton travelled from Melbourne to present on Educational Software.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday August 6thwhen Meredith Davies will be presenting on Phonics Programs.
3.Canterbury. Leader Joan Pilbeam
Term 1 meeting was in March. Rosemarie Burnton presented Software for Writing.
Term 2 meeting will be on Saturday 14th May when Jenny Deyzel will be the presenter and the topic Fractions.
4.Beaumaris. Leaders Susan Spencer and Luisa Cruthers.
The first meeting was in February with four in attendance and a second meeting was held on Saturday 2nd April with three in attendance. The topic for both was Assessments.
The next meeting will be on 3rd June at Susan Spencer’s home where she will present THRASS materials
5.Chirnside Park/Ringwood. Leader Norina Buchanan.
The first meeting was in February and the discussion focussed on Aspergers,case studies, other resources and Ultranet.
The second meeting was in Friday 13th May when consultants shared LD related readings and reported on PD attended.
6.Lower Plenty/Templestowe. Leader Rosemary Carter.
Term 1 meeting was on Friday 5th April with 10 attending. The topic was resources and Strategies for LD students.
Term 2 meeting will be on 21st June
7.Glen Waverley. Leader Pauline Wilson
Usually meetings are held on the second Friday evening of Term. All members are asked to bring something to share with the group such as resources, summary of readings or PD attended.
Term1 meeting was on 18thFeb.Chris Lisov spoke on a VATE Conference. Peter Twiddy spoke about a book “Alpha to Omega”and there was discussion about individual clients.
Term 2 meeting will be on May 13th
8.Wangaratta Leader Anne Ryan
This Network has started up because we now have a new consultant in Beechworth,Olga Evans.
Anne and Olga have had a meeting and more are planned.
