Most important info you need to know for the year: Requirements to be in the PTH club and to stay in….

First of all how many of you received the reminder text about the meeting today? If you have not joined remind, please text this message “@srvpth” to this number 81010. OR there is also a link to join Remind onour PTH club page.

1) Monthly Club Meeting Attendance is mandatory:

All members are required to attend our club meeting once per month usually the 2nd Tues of every month in the Aux Gym (the next meeting is Oct 3).

If a student cannot attend the meeting, they should f you are sick or have a school conflict. Students that miss a meeting will be required to volunteer one additional hour during the school year. We will take attendance at every meeting.

Once per quarter we will drop students from the roster that are not attending meetings. PLEASE NOTE: Club dues will not be refunded if you are dropped or if you decide to drop out on your own.

2) Volunteer Requirement (Active vs Passive Points):

*ACTIVE POINT REQUIREMENT (Can only be earned through volunteering):

Club members must volunteer a minimum of 10 hours during the school year in order to stay in the club the following year.

* You CAN volunteer on your own with your church, on a mission trip etc. as long as you are doing something to help others in need (refereeing and coaching doesn't count)

* NOTE: At least one event that you participate in must be with our PTH club through a Sign Up Genius invitation.

*BONUS PASSIVE POINTS: Club members can also receive passive points that go towards total hours at the end of the year. Passive points are earned from something other than volunteering:

* these can be earned by making holiday cards for seniors, by making blankets for foster kids/seniors on your own time, or by donating to one of our drives ($10 donation = 1 passive point). Most activities posted on Sign Up Genius will be an active point opportunity. We will mention if it is a passive point, otherwise it will be an active point opportunity.

Another way to earn easy points is to organize an event on your own and bring club members. For every friend you bring you will get an extra passive point (in addition to the active points you get for volunteering).

Awards: We do give out gift card awards twice a year for the top 10 members with the most volunteer hours. For these awards we only count PTH events where you sign up on sign up genius. Awards winners must be present at the meeting where gifts are passed out to collect their gift

3) PARENT HELP: We ask require parents to drive or chaperone one event per year.

4) CLUB DUES:

* Club dues are $35: Dues must be paid in order for you to receive Sign Up Genius invitations to PTH events. If dues present a hardship, you need to email me and they can be waived.

If you are wondering if you are officially on the roster, there is a spreadsheet on our Club Page that lists all 2017 and 2018 members. If you were an active member last year and want to rejoin you must rejoin by 9/17. There are links at the bottom of our club page to sign up via a Google Doc form and also to pay dues.

How do you make sure I get credit for active and passive points?

We will track your volunteer participation if you volunteer with our PTH club by signing up with one of our sign up genius invitations. If you volunteer outside the club you will need to enter your hours. To enter your volunteer hours you simply go to the top right hand corner of the Pledge To Humanity club page (yellow box on right hand side) and click on the button where says "Enter Active / Passive Points".

For weekend events we strictly enforce a 5 day cancellation notice. If you cancel two times in one year without adequatenotice, your name will be removed from Sign up genius for the rest of the school year. You should receive a text a week in advance, you need to immediate see if you can go, this is the time to cancel if you cannot go. A 5-7 day notice is required so we have time to find a replacement.
