Calories Burned During Exercise-

Rate each site on its usefulness and ease of use (no specific rating scale, just your opinion and thoughts)

This is a very good website, it is very simple and easy to navigate. The one problem I have with this website is that it does not cater to everyone who possibly could visit the website. On the chart given, it only ranges from people who are from the weights 130-205lbs. I think to improve this website that they should be able to provide for people who are outside this weight range because there are plenty people who are outside this range and will find no help with it.

Make one suggestion on how you would technologically improve each site - use what you have considered when constructing your websites

The website should provide a function where you just put in a small amount of information about yourself and you it gives you what the calories burned should be. So for example you should be able to select an exercise out of the big list provided and then all you have to do is put in your height and weight and then click solve and your answer will be provided.

Make one suggestion on what content you would add to each site to improve it - use knowledge that will enhance the site - be specific

Instead of having a link on the top of the website that says “New chart found at contains an updated list of over 300 activities, including a variety of exercises, sports, work and household activities.” The list should just be on the main page of the website instead of having the old not up to date one.

Was the information accurate - why or why not - how do you know?

Yes, the information was accurate because it did breakdown the caloric numbers burned for different exercises. I liked how it broke down workouts into intensity because an individual obviously burns more calories in a high intensity workout compared to a low one. For example, the examples of cycling at high speed, slow, moderate, and uphill.

Indicate how you could use the site in your profession - be specific

Since I am in the major for Physical education I would use this to help educate my students on calories burned. I would use the chats to show how each different exercise changes the amounts of calories burned. I can also provide this to students for them to be able to help track their workouts.

Use the calculators, surveys, quizzes, etc. and comment on how well they identified you based on the criteria used - you should not pay to use the calculators - if there is no calculator, etc. say so

Unfortunately I am outside the weight zones of the charts as I said before that the charts only go up to 205 pounds. I am 285 so this website might not be able to directly help me. But if I were inside the weight range provided I would plan my workout based on the activities and calories burned per our on the chart.

Nutrition Calculators-

Rate each site on its usefulness and ease of use (no specific rating scale, just your opinion and thoughts)

This is a great sight because it breaks up male and females. It is good to provide different options for the website visitors to have and the two links for males and females are perfect for it.

The way the described the BMI could be better. Instead of having it all written out in a paragraph, it could have a small chart showing the difference in BMI and go from underweight to obesity showing what the different numbers mean.

The websites should go into more depth about the information they are providing. They only have small paragraphs for each category. They can go into a little bit more depth clearly explaining each such as BMI. There is so much information on BMI and the small paragraph does not do enough to explain it.

Was the information accurate - why or why not - how do you know?

Yes, the information was accurate because it did provide the information about each category correctly such as having a 20-25 BMI is considered healthy. All of the numbers it provides is correct although the set up of how they are being provided may be sloppy.

As a teacher I will definitely be able to use this for my students. I can use the calculators on my students to find out their BMI. With this I would be able to tell how healthy my students are and it will help me find students who I could possibly help if they wanted it with working on their weight.

Use the calculators, surveys, quizzes, etc. and comment on how well they identified you based on the criteria used - you should not pay to use the calculators - if there is no calculator, etc. say so

The calculators worked great. I was able to put in my height and weight and my age into the BMI calculator and it gave back my BMI perfectly.

Sports Calculators-

This website was not really useful at all. Two out of the five links provided did not even work. If you want to have a successful website, it should be checked and made sure that everything on your site should be running smoothly.

Most links on this site didn’t even provide with any helpful information. For example the golf link just provided a link to another website that has a list of more links on it.

Make one suggestion on what content you would add to each site to improve it - use knowledge that will enhance the site - be specific

The website is extremely unattractive and boring. It needs to be changed up to be more attractive to the visitors eye and make them want to stay such as having some pictures on it instead of just a couple of links in the middle of the website.

Was the information accurate - why or why not - how do you know?

The websites provided that worked were accurate because you could enter the information you have and receive the % based on what you put in. For example, you could see QBs rating based on their attempts, completions, and passing yards.

As a teacher I can also make use of this website very well. I can use some of the calculators provided to help assess my students. I can use the calculators to post the results of how the students are doing in the sports during class. For example if we were doing a softball unit for class. I could have my students keep their stats and then I can later collect them and put them into the calculator and find out how everyone is doing.

Use the calculators, surveys, quizzes, etc. and comment on how well they identified you based on the criteria used - you should not pay to use the calculators - if there is no calculator, etc. say so

The calculators that worked were successful because it allowed me to get a certain perchange based on the information I enter. The calucators did the math itself so it was easy for the user to get a quick result.

Calories Burned in Sports-

Rate each site on its usefulness and ease of use (no specific rating scale, just your opinion and thoughts)

This website is a very useful site in my opinion. This is because it gives you links to many different sports over a variety of different option of the types of movements as well.

I would add BMI calculator to determine how many calories are burned based on the activity. A calculator would provide everyone with a chance to see where they can be at instead of just saying that they are “assuming” the person looking at the site is 150 pounds

Make one suggestion on what content you would add to each site to improve it - use knowledge that will enhance the site - be specific

I would add some images to make the site more attractive. Just a bunch of links listed down the website is not something good to look at.

Was the information accurate - why or why not - how do you know?

The information was completely accurate. Even though it was accurate it still did only provide information for someone who is 150 pounds.

Indicate how you could use the site in your profession - be specific

As a teacher I can provide this website to all of my students. For a homework assignment I can have the students have a certain goal of how many calories they should burn off in a single workout and this website will help provide the students with a variety of different activities that they can do.

Use the calculators, surveys, quizzes, etc. and comment on how well they identified you based on the criteria used - you should not pay to use the calculators - if there is no calculator, etc. say so

There is no calulator on this website.

This website is overall a very good website. It provides you with all of the information you need. It also provides a good background information to what the website is all about and it also provides you with many different links which you can choose to pick for whatever you came to the website for such as a coaching guide.

Make one suggestion on how you would technologically improve each site - use what you have considered when constructing your websites

I would definitely just organize the site a lot better. I feel like on this website there is just so much information all over the website. By possibly grouping some of the information on the website better it would cause less confusion looking through the website trying to find the information I want.

Make one suggestion on what content you would add to each site to improve it - use knowledge that will enhance the site - be specific

I would definitely add more pictures to this website. It has one player playing volleyball in the middle but that’s it. This website has all of the right information on it needed but a couple more pictures or animations will also appeal to the visitors of the websites eye and keep them there.

Was the information accurate - why or why not - how do you know?

The information on this website is very accurate. The links in the coaching guide provide you with a lot of information on how to coach and how to go through each of the different skills and how to teach them to your players.

Indicate how you could use the site in your profession - be specific

As a gym teacher I can very easily use this website. For example I am not particularly familiar with volleyball and as a teacher I may have to run a volleyball unit. I can come to this website for information on how to teach volleyball and go through what skills I need to teach.

Use the calculators, surveys, quizzes, etc. and comment on how well they identified you based on the criteria used - you should not pay to use the calculators - if there is no calculator, etc. say so

There is no calculator on this website.
