Team Leader
1. Job Title: Hub and Hostel Team Leader
2. Reportsto: Hub and Hostels Manager
3. Place of Work: Chichester Hub and Hostel. Normal working hours would be 37hours per week, this will include working across two sites and could involve some early starts and late finishes. The post will be from Monday to Friday.
4. Job Purpose.
To assist the Manager in the coordination and delivery of both the day service at the Hub and accommodation services at Chichester Hostel. This will include the supervision of Hostel Staff, inducting and supervising volunteers, assisting in the managing of rotas and cover and operating various management systems, including the administration of health and safety requirements.
5. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Manager in -
a)Professional Compliance
- Operate within clear professional boundaries.
- To ensure all staff are aware of both statutory and Stonepillow policies and procedures.
- Act up as service lead in the absence of the Manager.
- Regular liaison with other Stonepillow services.
- To attend staff meetings as required.
- To develop a knowledge of the organisations other services and support.
- To represent Stonepillow at multi agency meetings, in a professional way, when required by theManager.
- Regularly collating client feedback and involving clients in decision making in order to assimilate information and improve services and outcomes.
- Monitor income and void management within the hostel and administrate Housing Benefit claims.
- To have an active role in dealing with finance in services, which includes responsibility budgets and service charges.
- Assisting Manager in gathering data, recording outcomes for reports and audits.
b) Health and Safety responsibilities
- Ensure Environmental Risk Assessments on the property are completed, to include all Health and Safety regulations.
- To deal with any First Aid Issues.
- To ensure Fire Risk Assessment Reviewed appropriately.
- To supervise the team to immediately assess risk when clients access and appropriately manage presenting risk.
- To ensure any property defects are reported and undertaken.
- Provide a welcoming and supportive response to clients.
- To be a member of the out-of-hours on call rota, responding to calls and attendance on site as necessary.
c) Provide Support & Supervision
Assist Manager in -
- Ensuring Staff are trained and understanding around risk management.
- Co-coordinating effective and sound handovers between Hub/Hostel Teams.
- Ensuring that theHubs /Hostels are effectively staffed in the event of sickness or other emergencies.
- Undertaking quality monitoring audits of key working and support sessions and measuring quality and effectiveness of support in place.
- Setting achievable and realistic KPIs to support staff and clear objectives within job role.
d) Skills & Communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable with change and able to make decisions in certain circumstances.
- Proficient in word and excel.
- To maintain a professional approach to all communications with external agencies and visitors.
- A willingness to work with complex needs clients and work positively with risk.
- Ensure regular Staff Supervisions and Appraisals take place.
6. Confidentiality
This policy covers all Stonepillow employees and volunteers, all of whom will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Anyone working for Stonepillow who breaches the agreement will be liable to disciplinary action under the staff disciplinary procedure.
7. Data protection
- Work within our Data Protection Policy and an agreed confidentiality policy with protocols governing information sharing.
- Ensure all confidential records are stored to comply with Data Protection Regulations.
8. Other
To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required in the interest of Stonepillow.
