ManageBac – How To

1.  Go to www.ibcb.ca and use the ManageBac tab to get to the login page.

2.  Use your email address and assigned password to log in the first time.

3.  You will be required to add some personal information about yourself once you login. Go to the profile tab.

4.  After selecting the edit button, you will input some information on the screen. Please note that your name should be your FULL LEGAL NAME. Do not use a nickname as this data will be used to send some of your assignments to IB eventually.

5.  After you have filled in the appropriate information, click on the Groups tab. Once you have done that, select, “Show all groups”. You will see a group called CB Ambassadors. Join this group. All CAS opportunities available through the school are sent out through this group as well as any opportunities that the community sends to us. This is a priceless group to be part of for CAS or volunteering in general. Any time a new activity is posted, you will be able to see it in ManageBac, and an email is sent to the address you’ve inputted letting you know that something has been posed.

6.  Join your classes. Click on the Classes tab and select “Show All Classes”. Each of your teachers should have a ManageBac page for each of your IB classes. Some will take a few days to get their classes up and running. Ask them when you can expect the class to be made in ManageBac. If there is an ongoing issue, please see me. Some teachers will use ManageBac exclusively, some may link to their own websites. Either way, it is meant as a tool to help you navigate all of your IB classes. Once you have joined a class, teachers may post assignments, messages for the class, practice tests, homework questions, test and assignment dates, and other useful information.

7.  Please see the ManageBac CAS guide (CAS is for grade 11s and 12s only) for how to do CAS. We will address the extended essay in a separate session later in the year.
