Interim Changes
- As of April 27, all 10 Minnesota Continuum’s of Care voted to transfer HMIS Lead Agency (LA) and State System Administrator (SSA) duties.
- The Interim LA and SSA will serve for a period of 12-18 months and will be tasked with providing all core data administration and reporting functions.
- The approval of this transfer also includes an HMIS Interim Governing Board and Workgroup.
- During the interim period, MN Continuums of Care (CoCs), State Agencies and other key stakeholders, including Wilder, will work collaboratively to plan and build an enhanced homeless data system that meets the emerging needs of all stakeholders while maximizing resources and system functionality.
System Priorities
A difficult task of HMIS Governance over the past month has been to set priorities for Wilder’s existing LA/SSA work. This task is necessary in order to financially plan for the transfer to the Interim LA/SSA.
What won’t change:
- Help desk support: The help desk will continue to support end users with data entry and report troubleshooting.
- Work on System Restructure: Wilder is in the midst of restructuring parts of the system to allow for visibility and data sharing. This work remains a priority and will continue during the transition.
Anticipated changes:
- HMIS Training: All non-metro and refresher trainings have been postponed until further notice. Fortunately, there is a new online training option now available (See HMIS Online Training information below) and metro trainings will continue as planned. Additional training options are being explored so please stay tuned!
- Moving Coordinated Entry to live site: Targeted work in the demo site will continue with the support to technical assistance. CoCs are encouraged to also complete the CES checklist so they are prepared to set-up CES in the live site once able.
- LSA Support and Expansion: Support for LSA activity and expansion of the LSA role will be put on hold until after the transition has been made.
