SENIOR NIGHT PLANNING

Varsity lacrosse

Event planning:

1 – Fill out facility use form for the cafeteria

2 – Talk with the custodians about tables, garbage cans and outlet use

3 – order 8 sheet pizzas from Sals (638-8505) and a sheet cake from Wegmans

4 – Ask all parents to bring a dish to pass – in the past it has been underclassmen parents only. Maybe ask the senior parents to bring the lighter items.

5 - Arrange volunteers for set up and clean up after. Last year I had about 5 people set up the tables, get table clothes on, etc, prior to game. Then I had a couple come back at half time to help get all the food set up. Plus someone was down on the field setting up the posters onto hurtles with zip ties.

6 – Get individual senior shots from the photographer and ask the seniors what they plan after graduation.

7– Take a group photo of all the seniors.

8 - Make arrangements for someone to sing the national anthem and someone to announce for the evening.

9 - Arrange someone to take pictures of the parents with the boys prior to walking out onto the field. Michele Petrelli has done the past couple years. Does a great job. She also prints pics of the parents with their son and puts into frames to hand out at the senior banquet

10 – Buy balloons to hang at the field – I hung two bouquets last year, one on each side of the fence where the boys go onto the field. I then moved them inside at half time to use as decorations in the cafeteria. I also moved the posters inside and hung them on the walls with tape.

11 – Order individual roses/carnations from Nobles Flourist – mention for Bville lacrosse – same as last year. One per senior for one escort.

12 – Attach the posters of the players to hurdles on the track with zip ties. Be sure to allow room for the cheerleaders.

13 – Arrange for someone to email the senior parents for the full name and pronunciation of the two escorts for each kid. Last year I asked them to give it to me exactly how they wanted to be announced.

** Save all receipts and give to the treasurer of the Booster club for reimbursement.

***Be sure the pictures are put into frames afterwards to be given to the seniors at the banquet.

Food planning – Last year we asked only the underclassmen parents to bring a dish. If you are asking the senior parents, will be less hassle worrying you have enough food. I suggest you ask the underclassmen parents to do the main dishes and maybe the seniors to do the drinks, desserts, paper products, etc. We will need to be there early with the boys for pics, etc.

Make sure you suggest that whomever is bringing drinks has them cold and on ice.

I would suggest about 200 plates, forks, spoons, etc.

The past few years there were at least 25 main dishes (sub trays, chili, pulled pork, etc.) We suggested no salads last year – they don’t go. The boys like the hearty things. Chicken wing dip is big -= they love it. And the desserts….I would say least 10 desserts. There will be a cake but not nearly enough.

If you choose not to have parents bring a dish to pass, you can order pizza, wings, subs, etc. We had Limp Lizard cater for football this year – was very good.
