Introduction To Becoming A Therapy Dog Team is a workshop designed to educate the human companion (you) and expose your dog to medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, etc. Dogs will refine and practice their obedience skills.

Dog B.O.N.E.S.-Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts uses these three sessions as a method of evaluating teams for therapy dog work. Therapy dog teams that may then become members of Dog B.O.N.E.S.- Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts as and begin volunteer visiting. (membership dues is $25.00 annually)

Requirements for enrollment:

1.  Dogs must be at least 9 months old and provide proof of obedience training(s).

2.  Handlers must have owned the dog their dog at least 6 months prior to taking this workshop.

3.  Dogs must display appropriate temperament (non-aggressive towards people and other dogs and enjoy attention from people).

4.  Human companions must be at least 18 years of age, or accompanied by a parent.

5.  Proof of current vaccinations is required.

Registration fee is $50.00 per dog registered.
