a.  Intramural Programs

3-on-3 basketball tournament

·  Went really well! – 11 teams participated.

·  Running another 3-on-3 basketball tournament in March.

·  Connecting the March 3-on-3 tournament with BREATHE.

·  Thinking about connect tourney in conjunction with Dr. Jay and Wolfe.

·  If people can think about/collect some items for the winner of tourney. – Gift certificates, shirts, etc.

·  We should have raffle at the door to get students engaged. Try and procure donated items we could raffle.

·  Calvin, will put an article in the paper, will promote all over campus.

Swimming

·  Going good, about 10 people in the last billing cycle.

·  Hopefully we can tie this in with BREATHE, will create more hype.

Bike to Work Month

·  Talk about Alan Loveless on getting a club going

·  Expand Bike to work month to more than just a month

·  Get more events throughout the whole year that people on campus and in the club can participate in.

·  Any Ideas to promote bike to work month?

·  Bike flyers throughout campus

·  The Cascade website has a tracking feature, where people can log their miles (we could have a friendly competition)

Personal Training

·  Going really well!

·  One issue that Megan is experiencing is: people will sign up for an appointment but not show up.

·  Solutions: to encourage people to follow through with the personal training,

appointment cards/email reminders – have them input appointments in their cell?

BREATHE

·  Will be having massages again

·  More departments coming on board

·  Will be having free food in counseling center

·  Passport system (so they can branch out to other departments)

·  Hopefully by next week we will have the schedules set

·  Will be having multiple vendors here

·  Need to send out PARKING PERMITS for the vendors via email

Spring Wellness Fair Updates

·  Need more Businesses?

·  Idea for vendors: Greg’s cycles (Green lake)

-  Bring in a bike trainer to help people set up bikes

-  Help with helmet fittings and bike mechanics

·  Shoreline Police Department if they do anything to help with this

·  Planned Parenthood – sent extra condoms to counseling center- extras could be handed out a fair?

WELLNESS PLAN

·  Beginning stages – idea is that when students come to campus, they work on a wellness plan along with their educational plan

-  This is a broader plan on how they are going to stay healthy and well during stressful times

-  How they will stay physically, spiritually, and financially well

-  Stressing the importance on getting enough sleep

-  Exercising

-  Counselors will have suggestions and resources on how to direct them.

-  Hoping to do a demo of a small number of students and how it will impact them.

It was brought to our attention that we are in need of a new faculty member for the Wellness Committee–

-  Gwen Hoffman-Robinson said she will be happy to become the new faculty member. Follow up with Steve about Gwenn being an official part of this.
