2) Mission and Vision Statements:
a) Share with one another briefly what the MISSION STATEMENT of St John means for us as a community: “Inviting and equipping people of all ages to be and become disciples of Jesus Christ”.
b) Share with one another briefly what the ministry of St John could and currently does look like by being led by the VISION STATEMENT of: “Living and sharing a life changing and passionate faith in Jesus Christ.”
3) Adoption of Agenda: Motion to Adopt by Larry Prohaska and seconded by Rich Schoof, motion passed
4) Devotion and Prayer: Pastor Dave Author Henry Nowen “Spiritual Work of Gratitude”
5) Business:
a) Annual Meeting: reviewed the agenda and meeting script
b) Pastoral Call Process update (FYI):
(1) April 19- Pastor Duane’s reception set for April 19th
(2) Pastor Rick and Nancy’s moving plans: Moving to Cedar Falls on Wednesday April 22nd
(3) May 4- start date for Pastor Rick
(4) May 10- installation at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00. Assistant to the Bishop Steven Bracket will install pastor Rick Biedermann
(5) May 13- reception 5:30-7:30 PM
c) Other
6) Reports-
a) Special Congregation Meeting Minutes- March 8, 2015 submitted with minor changes by Gerald Sorensen
b) Church Council Minutes- March 26, 2015 submitted by Larry Prohaska
c) Summary Financial Reports for March 31, 2015- in annual report Reviewed
d) Pastor’s Report- 3 Baptisms, 1 Funeral, Hospital visits are up. Review of Pastor Duane is completed
e) Endowment Report- (included in Annual Report)
f) Property Committee- Larry Prohaska has volunteered to fill Gerald’s position as Council Leader on Building and Grounds. An awning project is to be completed in the courtyard to shade the stage area.
g) 150th Anniversary Celebration Update- no report Donna Wede will continue to work on putting together a team for this important event.
h) Call Process Update- Marie Helvie and Natalie Burris have completed their service with the installation of Pastor Rick Biedermann
