Notes from the PTA

It's never to late to join the PTA! Well it's hard to believe that Fall is coming. Our PTA committees are planning a lot of fun fall events. So please take a few minutes to read over all the wonderful things we have going on over the next few weeks. Please don't forget to check e-communications and the PTA website for up coming events.

NOTES from Mr. C

Time sure flies when you are having fun as half of the 1st marking period is over already. School is in full swing and our students have transitioned nicely from summer vacation to the new school year. Please continue working with your child by assisting with homework when needed, checking for homework completion, checking planners and homework folders, and reviewing material for tests and quizzes. While we ask that you assist your child with these tasks, the responsibility rests with the students, especially at the upper grades.

Most of our children participate in one extra-curricular activity or another during the school year, but please continue making their education priority #1 in your house. As I stated at Back to School Night, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not wait until the Parent/Teacher Conferences in November to address these. Please contact your child’s teacher immediately, either

via email or phone. Please allow for at least one school day for the teacher to respond. For all other questions, please do not hesitate to call the school’s office and ask! Have a great October!

Please remember to check the West Hanover website and our e-Communications link weekly for important district, school, and community information.

WILDCAT/RAM SKI CLUB:

While it is only October, winter will be here before you know it. Do you love winter and the snow as much as Mr. C. does, even if we do not get enough of both? Do you love to ski or snowboard or would you love to learn? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then the WILDCAT/RAM SKI CLUB is for you! This is the only Elementary and Middle School Ski Club in the district and it is open to anyone: teachers, parents, students, friends and relatives. The club was organized to facilitate discounted group rates to anyone regardless of age or experience. Anyone who is age 4 or older is eligible to purchase a NIGHT CLUB CARD (NCC) for Roundtop, Liberty, and Whitetail Resorts. This card is a picture ID that entitles the cardholder to ski or snowboard every night beginning January 2, 2015, through the end of the season for one low rate with packages starting at $179. Anyone younger than 4 receives a free ticket with a paying adult or NCC holder. This year the Ski Club is able to offer Season Passes, Night Season Passes, and Online purchasing if you choose. If you are interested in more information on the cost of the different packages, please contact Mr. C. at the school or check out our link on e-Communications. All applications and payments need to be to Mr. C. by November 3, 2014. While there is no cost to join the WILDCAT SKI CLUB, the NCC’s are only sold through ski clubs and schools.
