3) Updates on Voyager 7.0 training sessions and timeline for new implementation.
Training

  • Carol Kellett will request training on Wed., Feb. 18 and Thurs., Feb. 20th from 9am-2pm
  • Joe at Ex Libris will deliver the training via a WebEx broadcast from Chicago to three sites: Maui, Hilo, and Manoa (UHM Hamilton Classroom 113)
  • We may be able to begin actual configuration work during the training.

Implementation

  • WebVoyage recommends implementation the week of July 13, 2009.
  • Implementation will take 3-5 days.
  • During implementation, we will have a "continuous opac", meaning we have access to the opac, but with frozen records (no call slips, current status fields, or Intra System Loans).
  • We can use Offline Circ (using the new client) during implementation.
  • JABSOM students will need access to e-resources by July 27th. Lee will consult with Carol about how to ensure they'll have this.

4) Google Books update.

  • Sometimes links go to the wrong information, particularly when items have an ISSN. For example:

American Hospital Association Statistics links to Art of the Grill
State Medical Licensure Requirements and Statistics links to Stories from China

  • We suspect the issue stems from problems with the data on Google's end.
  • Lee will investigate who at Google we can contact to get these corrected.
  • Lee will send WebVoyage a list of known problematic titles.
  • Stu will send a note to sites-l asking for people to use the "Cat Errors -- NOT FOR REQUESTS" form to report newly discovered inaccurate links.
  • CarolKellett says the data from these forms gets emailed to assist (the Systems Office), where she will collect them.
  • Steph will also create a Laulima Discussion Forum for reporting Google Book problems.

5.) Announcement from Catalogers.

  • The Language designation for "Moldavian" has changed to "Moldavan." However, this has the same code as Romanian.
  • Carol has added a "See ROMANIAN" reference below the listing for Moldavan in the search limits list.

6). Aquabrowser

  • The Law School Library has licensed use of Aquabrowser.
  • They are configuring now, and should go live with it in February.
  • The cost for Aquabrowser is based on records, and would likely be unaffordable for use by the whole system.

Meeting Adjourned: 2:30 p.m.
