1) Activities for ESL Students
This website contains numerous quizzes and activities for students of all levels and languages. On one side an ESL student can choose quizzes from Arabic to Zulu to practice words from their native language to English and even from English to their native tongue. The website includes vocabulary work, crosswords, and grammar practice. Even if you do not have a flash drive on your computer you can still access all of the fun with HTML. This would be most beneficial for English classes.
2) Many Things
This is a neat website. It has some amazing features for ESL students to learn the English language. There are quizzes to see how far a student has progressed. Students can learn songs, practice pronunciations and it even has a slang dictionary. ESL students have a lot of difficulty understanding their peers’ slang, now they have a website that will give them a simple definition of words from ace to zip. This website has a beginners section; however I feel that it would be more beneficial for middle school students who know the basics of English.
3) Dave’s ESL Café
The front page say’s it all “The Internet’s Meeting place for ESL + EFL teachers +students from around the World!” This website has lesson plans for teachers, discussion boards, job links and so much more. Students, teacher and parents as well will enjoy browsing this website. There is information on the usual grammar and reading as well as science, history, geography, and mathematics. Teacher’s and student’s alike have forums in which they can talk to others in similar situations. There is also a link to my next website.
4) Pronunciation Power
This website has a cost depending on the products you wish to buy. The demo shows what it is capable of doing, and 8in one English Dictionary, pronunciation practice, games, crosswords and the like. All of which a teacher can use to help ESL students and parents.
5) ESL Party Land
For middle school students and teacher this website is a fun way to learn and practice English. They use real life scenarios to practice grammar and conversation skills. The website is like most and it has sections for teachers as well as students. Fun games, easy lesson plans, and communication boards. It works well if you are a teacher in America or in a different country teaching English.
6) ESL HQ
Easy to print of worksheets and activities, message boards, and articles is what this website is all about as well as so much more. If you are a teacher looking for a little extra help in your classroom this is the website to go to. Fun games, different activities, and printable worksheets all for free. Who could ask for more? This can be used in ESL classrooms to work on reading, writing, and communicating in the English language.
7) English Club
This is an excellent website with valuable resources for teaching English, and grammar to ESL students. This website has the 8 parts of speech and both long and short definitions for grammar vocabulary. At the end of each lesson is a short quiz that allows students to assess their learning.
8) ESL- Lounge
This website contains quizzes and activities for students of all levels and languages. The website includes vocabulary work, crosswords, and grammar practice. Teachers can use lesson plans, check to make sure they are follow TELF, read articles and post questions, comments and concerns on discussion boards. Any teacher who works with ESL students would, could, and do use this site.
9) ESL Teachers Board
Jobs, articles, and guides to live in another country, this website has it all. The name describes it all Teachers Board. This website in the perfect choice for teachers when looking to communicate with other teachers who work with ESL students.
10) ESL- Galaxy
There are over 2368 free printable worksheets for ESL lesson plans and ESL Activities on this website. This website even has Power Points that teachers can download and use in their classrooms. Communication activities, writing templates and learning songs are just a few examples of what this site offers to teachers and ESL students.
11) The Internet TESL Journal
This website has it all with; Articles, Research Papers, Lessons Plans, Classroom Handouts, Teaching Ideas and Links. Designed for teacher with teachers in mind, easy to understand articles, and a website that is easy to find information who could ask for anything more. All teachers who work with ESL students will want to have this site as a favorite.
12) New York Science Teacher
This website is perfect for science teachers working with ESL students. It offers Bilingual Glossaries, easy to follow science experiments, and printable lab sheets that teachers can use. There are games for students to learn and have fun, as well as useful information for teacher.
13) Lantern Fish
Lantern Fish has printable teaching resources, lesson plans, and teaching available job and so much more. What I like best about this website is the role playing activities. Helping students work on verbal communication is just as important as making sure they can read. This website is designed mainly for Language Arts class or special ESL class.
14) Teacher’s Network
This website is not specifically designed completely for ESL teachers and students; however it has some wonderful resources that any teacher including ESL teachers would value. The main focus for ESL teachers would be the How-To section. In this section it has wonderful ideas on adjusting your teaching style to work with ESL students, including lesson plans and how to encourage students to be active members in your classroom.
15) ESL FLOW
This website is designed for ESL teachers. It has resources for all subject matters, including social skills. Worksheets and lesson plans on learning about everyday life, money, dating, jobs, and school related: vocabulary, writing, reading and games to help make learning fun.

Any teacher who works with ESL students, and the students themselves should have this website booked marked into their favorites. This website has bilingual sections for a variety of languages not just Spanish. Worksheets galore, lesson plans, communication boards, and resources to just name a few advantages of this website. Use with all grade levels, and subjects.
17) Teach Children ESL
This website is for the teacher on the go, worksheets and activities for ESL students fast and easy. This would be the perfect website when an ESL teacher is going to be absent or just extra worksheets to send home for students to practice with.
18) Suite 101: English as a Second Language
This website is mainly information for teachers. It has articles on how to help ESL students with reading comprehension. This website also has reading activities to use in the classroom and information on where one can learn sign language.
19) English as a Second Language
This is a college website; however ESL teachers can find it very resourceful. The links on this page as so numerous there is something for everyone. It has websites on fluency, vocabulary building, dictionaries, translators, newspapers and so much more. There is also a section for students and well as teacher that benefit all.
20) Using English
This website has a large collection of tools and resources for both students and teacher. There are English Grammar Test, reading comprehension quizzes, and lesson plans on idioms, as well as so much more. There is a forum where teachers can talk with others about problems, concerns and ideas they have in the classroom. Perfect for Language Arts teachers and ESL teachers alike.
