What is Voki?

The free service known as Voki allows educators to create personalized avatars and use them in profiles, web pages, and in email messages.

1. Start customizing your avatar.

· Customize your Head first. Certain head choices allow you to manipulate the hair style and facial expressions.

· Customize the Clothing: casual, dressy, uniform.

· Customize the Bling: eyeglasses, jewelry, and other accessories.

Select DONE when you are satisfied with your results.

2. Now give your avatar a voice.

· Call-in option.

· Text to talk and select your Accent/Language and Voice.

· Record your voice with a microphone.

· Upload a file containing a previously recorded message.

Select DONE when you are finished.

3. Now select your background and player.

· Choose from City views, Outdoors, Travel, Animated, Holidays, Obscure, Sports, Indoors, and Nightlife settings.

· You may also upload your own image file to use as a background.

· You may choose the player border that displays around your avatar.

Select DONE when you are finished.

4. Click Publish to email this avatar to a friend or to get a code to take your avatar with you on the web. By creating an account, you can go back and revisit the avatars you created at your convenience.
