RCMA GOLF TOURNAMENT DRAWS 36 TEAMS, RAISES $77,000+

IMMOKALEE, FL – May 12, 2006 – Nearly 150 golfers and over three dozen major sponsors helped the Redlands Christian Migrant Association raise more than $77,000 at its seventh annual golf tournament recently in Naples.

Two teams tied for first place with a score of 57: Shane Klatt, Chris Marlin, Dennis Richard and John Richard; and Jesse Black, Dr. Hal Bozof and Scott Schaaf. In third place at 58 were Robin MacDonald, Irv Pierce, Gary Markarian and Pat Rodgers.

The event, held April 22 at the Cedar Hammock Golf and Country Club in Naples, was co-sponsored by All-Brand Foods and Lodge Construction, which donated $10,000 each.

“We’re extremely grateful to All-Brand Foods and Lodge Construction for their generous support,” said RCMA Executive Director Barbara Mainster. “These two companies led numerous major corporate sponsors that helped make the event a success. And we owe huge thank you to the many golfers who donated $175 each to play!”

Proceeds will benefit RCMA child-development centers and charter schools.

Platinum sponsors ($5,000 each) were Florida Community Bank and Olde Florida Benefits. Gold sponsors ($2,500 each) were Bank of America, Corporate Express, Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, Kaplan Early Learning Co., Marsh USA and Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board. Silver sponsors ($1,500) were BlueCross BlueShield of Florida; Florida Tomato Exchange; Gargiulo, Inc.; Ocariz, Gitlin & Zomerfeld, LLP, and PHH Arval. Bronze sponsors ($1,250) were A. Duda & Sons and subsidiaries, Danka Office Imaging Co., Lykes Brothers and Rentokil Pest Control. Charter sponsors ($1,000) were the Paul J. DiMare Foundation and Dex Imaging, Inc.

More than 35 other companies and individuals contributed as corporate sponsors, tee sponsors and goodie-bag sponsors, and another 50 companies donated door prizes and gifts.

Winning the grand prize, a seven-night Royal Caribbean cruise, was Danny Sutton, of the D&K Harvesting team. Curt Todd, from Bank of America, Naples won the second prize, a digital camera, and Val Carter, family support specialist in RCMA’s Palm Beach area office, won third prize, a two-night stay at the Rosen Centre Resort in Orlando.

Serving approximately 6,000 children in 20 counties, RCMA is Florida’s largest non-profit child care and early education provider, operating 75 centers, including two charter schools. The Immokalee-based organization was founded in 1965 in the Redlands farming area of Miami-Dade County.
