Bus439 Systems and Simulation Test Two

Attached below is an Appendix titled, “Tools, Process Management, and Firm Success” and 41 pages from the website are a separate hyperlink, Test2 material to study. A good project/test for each of you would be to explain each of the 52 displayed linkages and the 61 that are not displayed (all possible dyads of the twelve precursor constructs) in the “Tools, Process Management, and Firm Success” causal model. However, I do not want 4000 pages to grade. So, think about your class project relative to the four aspects of process management and how those four aspects affect firm profitability. How will the successful completion of your team’s project move the company forward in each of those four aspects of process management and how will that movement enable greater firm success (profitability)? Include in your answer how some aspects of some of the twelve precursor constructs help you achieve the project’s expected effect. I expect you to at least correctly use some terms listed on page 33-41 of the material supplied from the web site in your answer.

Discussion amongst all of you is allowed and encouraged, but each test has to be individual work, and no more than five pages. I expect your work to show that you understand what process management is, that you have read the material on the web site, that you understand that material, that you know what lean is and how to achieve it, what six sigma is and how to use some of the tools in the six sigma tool bag, what discrete simulation is and how it works with lean and six sigma, what aspects of humanity are important to process management, and some of the other 12 precursor constructs. Use the 20/80 rule to decide where to concentrate. Since a big part of the current process practitioners’ vocabulary and understanding currently revolves around lean and six sigma, you should be sure to include them in your 20% of the causal variables that generate 80% of the influence on process management.

A word of caution, do not expect to finish this test in a few hours, give yourself lots of time. Write it, let it rest, read it and then re-write it. Being able to provide a good answer to this test is a precursor to landing a really good job. You have over two months; I expect a polished and concise work.
