Iam requesting your assistance in reaching out to a ninth grade student enrolled in the Health and Medical Sciences Academy at Eastern Senior High School in Northeast, Washington, DC.These students are in the early stages of identifying career interestsand you can help by sharing your experience as a member of the metropolitan area healthcare workforce.
We are seeking professionals with excellent communication skills and an interest in sharing their experience and advice on preparing for a future career in health or medical science. Do you enjoy what you do? Could you speak about it with an adolescent, age 13-15? Could you invite a student to spend part of the day “shadowing” you? What about giving a 30 minute lecture or demonstration? Are you able to commit 5-10 hours of volunteer service during the upcoming academic year? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we could use your help. Listed below are a few of the careers in which students have expressed an interest.
